Place of Birth: Los Angeles, California, United States

*father – Armenian
*mother – English, as well as Scottish, Irish, German, Dutch, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Welsh, remote Jersey Channel Islander and Cornish

Kim Kardashian, also known as Kim Kardashian West, is an American television and social media personality, actress, socialite, and model. She is the daughter of Robert Kardashian, an attorney who was one of O.J. Simpson’s lawyers at his murder trial, and Kris Jenner (born Kristen Mary Houghton), a socialite. O.J. Simpson was Kim’s godfather. Her siblings are Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian, and her half-siblings are Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Through her ex-stepparent, Caitlyn Jenner, she was a stepsister of musician Brandon Jenner and socialite Brody Jenner. Kim has four children, including singer and actress North West, with her former husband, rapper, record producer, and fashion designer Kanye West. Her niece is Penelope Disick.

Kim’s father was of Armenian descent. Kim’s mother is from a family that has lived in the United States for many generations, and has English, as well as Scottish, Irish, German, Dutch, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Welsh, and remote Jersey Channel Islander and Cornish, ancestry. Kim once stated that she gets her curves from her Armenian heritage. Kim has said that she did not speak Armenian at home, but does occasionally at family get-togethers. She once stated in an interview, “being Armenian is a big part of who I am,” and that her grandfather instilled a lot of Armenian culture in her. In 2019, she was baptized in the Armenian Apostolic Church with the name Heghine.

A 23andMe DNA test whose results were displayed on the show Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2018) stated that Kim’s sisters Khloé and Kourtney’s genetic ancestry is:

*53%-58% European
——–*4.5% French
*41.6% Middle Eastern & North African

The test also evidently stated that the Kardashians have a fraction of Native American DNA, presumably under .4% in Khloé’s case, given her 58% European and 41.6% Middle Eastern results.

Kim’s paternal grandfather was Arthur Thomas Kardashian (the son of Tatos Saghatel “Thomas”/Tom Kardashian and Hamas “Hanna” Shakarian). Arthur was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, to parents from Kars, Russian Empire. The family were ethnic Armenian Molokan Jumpers from Karakale, now Turkey. Tatos was the son of Saghatel/Sam Kardashian/Kardaschoff and Harom “Mary” Varsoff/Yuzbashian. Kim’s family’s last name was spelled Kardaschoff in Russia. Kim’s great-grandmother Hamas was the daughter of Demos/Tom Shakarian and Goolisar/Grace Yesilbashian/Thomson.

Kim’s paternal grandmother was Helen Jean Arakelian (the daughter of John Arakel Mgrditchian Arut Arakelian and Vartanoosh/Rose Miroyan/Mirayan). Helen was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California. John was born in Getap, Vayots Dzor, Armenia. Vartanoosh was born in Erzurum, Erzurum, Turkey, of Armenian descent, the daughter of Hovhannes Miroyan and Luciag Chorbajian.

Kim’s maternal grandfather was Robert True Houghton (the son of True Otis Houghton and Mary Lee Pickens). Robert was born in San Diego County, California. Kim’s great-grandfather True was born in Oklahoma, the son of Otis Sewall Houghton, who had deep New England roots, and of Lula Laura Barnard/Bernard. Mary Lee was born in Texas, the daughter of Charles/Charlie Luran A. Pickens and Lizzie/Elizabeth Mae/May/Mary A. Douglas/Douglass.

Kim’s maternal grandmother is Mary Gorden/Gordon/Jo Campbell (the daughter of Gorden/Gordon Lowe Campbell and Lou Ethel Wyatt). Kim’s grandmother Mary was born in Arkansas. Kim’s great-grandfather Gorden was born in Mounds, Creek, Oklahoma, the son of Jefferson Davis Campbell and Freedonia/Fredonia/Fredom May Teaney. Lou was born in Mississippi, the daughter of Walter Alba Wyatt and Mary Tiny VanZandt/Van Zandt.

Kim’s matrilineal line can be traced to her great-great-great-great-grandmother, S. Margaret “Maggie” Gray, who was born, c. 1833, in Mississippi.

    Typical for an Armenian girl, but rather dark for being half Western Euro half Armenian. I guess that’s her mothers Native American and the tanning salon shining through.

  2. wendycs says:

    She looks Indian, middle eastern, Caucasian my ash.

  3. corneliuskrenki says:

    kim looks she is from Turkey

    • WTF says:

      no she doesn’t. turkish people look italian or spaniard. kim looks indian or mexican. idk she’s racially ambiguous. sometimes she even looks a little black!

      • J.J. says:

        Turkish look Italian or Spanish? Turkish look eastern Mediterranean like greeks and Lebanese, they do not resemble Italians and Spaniards. Italians and Spaniards are latin people and are more closely related to French and other latin speaking countries, Turkish origins are Turkic which is central Asian, they may all be countries in the Mediterranean but you’re comparing one side of the Mediterranean to the other when they both have different origins so there are significant differences. as for kim kardashian looking indian or Mexican or a little black, she doesn’t look south Asian at all, you cant look Mexican as Mexican isn’t an ethnicity since it was colonised by Europeans, it’s like saying someone looks Australian, and she does not look black even slightly. she looks exactly what she is

        • Butterfly says:

          she can’t pass turkish ,her features are exotic/strange for a turk. why you people who knows nothing about turkey talks about them? we know much our people than you! maybe turkic people are from central asia, but in majority turkish people are descendants of peoples from thracia and anatolia and this is what they look, they can have a mediteranean look like some italians so I am ok with wtf about italians but not spanish. Yes they can look like their neighbors also. Every person in turkey don’t have the same look!

      • aroxysimon says:

        @wtf i smell a turk

  4. Barbara Meek says:

    She looks Armenian… end of story.

  5. undashing says:

    She looks like a mix of middle easterner and white.

    • J.J. says:

      middle easterns are white?

      • Alice says:

        I wouldn’t call middle easterners white. I think you are thinking of the term caucasian. Some Indians are also called caucasian but you wouldn’t call them white.

        • J.J. says:

          it’s amazing how you’re rambling on with your crap that she doesn’t look Iberian when I’ve seen Spanish people with such a similar look to her not to mention I’ve asked a person what they thought she looked and the person said Spanish straight away, she could pass for Spanish quite easily

        • J.J. says:

          middle easterns are Caucasian but not white? I’ve never heard anything more ridiculous, actually no wait, yes I have, from very ignorant people. the term Caucasian essentially does mean white considering the person who came up with the term Caucasian was basing his racial classifications on skin tone primarily and came to the conclusion that European skin tone and middle eastern skin tone was similar, not to mention middle easterns carry the same blonde haired blue eyed gene Europeans do and have a very similar yet varied facial structure. saying Europeans deserve the title of white and not middle easterns when many southern and eastern Europeans have coloured/darker beige skin and some arabs have fair skin is absolutely pathetic. Europeans and middle easterns are both white and are of the same race. the term “white” is very subjective as there is no guideline as to what ‘white’ is but essentially it is synonymous with Caucasian, you do not have to be “fair” to be white as not even fair/pale skin will match a white piece of paper, I’ve had arguments with people trying to say people like shakira aren’t white and saying inhabitants of countries like spain, Italy and Lebanon aren’t white people, it’s sad how people think. white includes all the skin tones of people part of the Caucasian race end of story, countries like USA understand that as they categorise middle easterns as white but ignorant countries like Australia recognise white as any one of European descent, and put middle easterns under the category of ‘arab’ rather than white, it’s really very pathetic

          • andrew says:

            white is a term used by Americans for europeans, I find it ridiculous since there’s a rich business about tanning products

          • Alice says:

            J.J you can get very aggressive in your posts. Caucasian doesn’t mean white. There are Caucasians from India to Europe and it is really an outdated anthropological term covering a vast area of unrelated people. You seem to be very prickly about this subject.

            If your post is directed at me I’ve only commented once about Kim Kardashian not looking Iberian so I don’t know how that is “rambling on with crap”. But I’ll say it again she doesn’t look Iberian at all. You can tell where a lot of people are from by their features and you can definitely see Kim’s Armenian influence. She would look foreign in Spain or Portugal or could pass more as a Latin American.

            People have differing views. It’s not like it’s an insult to not be white.

          • Alice says:

            Just as an example I can pick a lot of Irish out even before they open their mouths. Sure a lot of Irish look like their neighbours but I can narrow people down to the British Isles no problems at all. Populations have different influences so it is not difficult to tell them apart. It is very easy to tell Western Europeans from Eastern Europeans for example. Some people can pick someone’s ethnicity just by looking at them. I’m not quite as adept as that but it is easy to tell Middle Easterners from Europeans.

            Anyway you seem to put being white up on a pedestal. As if people “deserve” it. There’s nothing wrong with being darker. In fact a lot of people prefer that look.

          • ae111 says:

            This is just strange. Are these “white people” gonna feel some sort of special connection or what?

          • Alice says:

            Arabs in the US don’t want to be considered “white” on the US census.

          • J.J. says:

            @alice
            I find it interesting you said how I feel as though people deserve the title of white, and now that I think about it, you’re completely right, that is how I think, if mixed race people like Rihanna and beyonce get the title of black then why shouldn’t middle easterns get the title of white, they have similar facial structures/features of people from Europe e.g. aquiline nose, they can have fair skin, light hair and light eyes (even though it may be rare) and they are Caucasians, I can understand some arabs from north Africa and certain parts of the middle east with extremely dark skin thinking being classified as white is ridiculous, but well I’m sure many light skinned arabs wouldn’t want to refer to themselves as white either as they do not want to be categorised with Europeans, and they want to think of themselves as a whole different ethnicity/race, but if we gave people the option of self description you’d get a whole lot of people from southern and eastern Europe not wanting the title of white either without understanding that “white” doesn’t necessarily refer to an extremely light/fair skin tone. it all comes down to POV and how people have been educated on race, like I said ‘white’ is subjective, you’ll get many people who have the attitude, “if you look white, you’re white, you don’t have to have fair skin” and you’ll get people that think white is anyone with significantly light skin which is generally restricted to mainstream Europeans. I chose to recognise any Caucasian as part of the “white” race due to their facial structure and the blonde haired blue eyed gene they’re carrying, I will however recognise that there are many north African arabs with a strong negroid look and skin tone who are better classified as black than white. as for south Asians being Caucasian, it is true Indians, Bangladeshi’s and Pakistani’s were once considered part of the Caucasian race as much so as a german person would be however now it is very rare that an indian would be officially classified as a Caucasian by a countries standards, even though south Asians carry the blonde haired blue eyed gene and they have obvious Caucasian facial features, I’d deem the Caucasian in them as admixture, not what is predominate and therefore not class them as actual ‘white Caucasians’

          • Alice says:

            Thanks for the response and the much nicer tone. A lot of Arab people themselves don’t identify as white and I can completely understand why. I’ve met Iraqis and Iranians and they have all been much darker than any Southern European. Some Lebanese people are as white as and do look European but some are definitely more Middle Eastern looking. Their culture is also very different. Maybe the term “white” shouldn’t be used in the future as it a very broad term and possibly there might be Europeans who don’t feel it is a good description for themselves. It is a new world term anyway just like how Latino is used to describe a very broad section of people.

          • J.J. says:

            well put alice, white and black aren’t specific enough terms for race and should become out dated and obsolete in the future

          • ashash says:

            @Alice

            Armenians aren’t Arab.

            They’re from the Caucaus like the Boston Bombers, who everyone considered white …

          • ashash says:

            @Alice

            I’m just saying that the Boston Bombers were from the same region and they were classified as white by everyone, including the FBI. You might not consider them white, but that’s what they’re considered here in the United States.

    • ectag says:

      She’s half Armenian for crisakes; even full blooded Armenians are considered white.

      • undashing says:

        Armenians are mostly brown skinned. I only consider native Europeans white.

        • J.J. says:

          @undashing
          so just because a caucasian from europe has darker beige coloured skin than the stereotypical european with fair skin, they’re therefore not white and not a native european? do tell what is your definition of a native european because if you’re going to say a germanic with light hair and eyes who is seen as more “pure” are the only people deserving of the title white, you’re immensely ignorant. if you’d like to talk purity once upon a time europeans all had pale blonde hair, deep blue/violet eyes and extremely pale skin which is why many will debate that europeans are the descendants of albino’s. but looking at the stereotypical european today, i see a lack of albino looking people, and the closest you’d get to that look would still exist amongst certain people in regions of Scandinavia and the nordic countries. The most common look in europe today would be faded blue eyes, very dark blonde/light brown hair (most dye it blonde) and fair skin that tans somewhat easily. So why should a fair skinned, brown haired, pale blue eyed dutch person get the title of white and not a dark beige skinned, dark haired, brown eyed armenian?
