First off, ya’ll need to be proud to just be AMERICAN, whether your great-grand dad was a slave or not…America is a melting pot of different ethnicities and cultures, and most people who’s heritage in this country goes back far enough have a little bit of everything. As someone who’s got some slave ancestry, I don’ know ANYTHING about Africa. My heritage, my culture, has got a little bit of everything, and that’s what being American is all about.

I’m not proud to be American I was born in a country it’s no big deal it isn’t a accomplishment, and I didn’t choose to be born here. This country isn’t the #1 nation in the world that’s just patriot bull. I’m not going to just say “I’m American” and leave it at that if someone ask me my nationality I’ll say that but I don’t consider myself just a American because the term “American” is such a broad term and gives way to so many different races and I’m a unique individual who doesn’t want to blend, and wants to stick out. I feel like a 2nd class citizen here, and I wish that slavery would’ve never happen because when you kidnap someone out of their homeland you never know what life their Descendents could have so I’ll try to be happy being here BUT I think I would’ve had less issues if I had grown up in Africa.
