Birth Name: Michael Steven Bublé
Place of Birth: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
Date of Birth: 9 September, 1975
Ethnicity: Italian, some Croatian
Michael Bublé is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He also became an Italian citizen in 2005. Michael has won several awards, including two Grammy Awards and multiple Juno Awards. His first album reached the top ten in Canada and the U.K. He found worldwide commercial success with his 2005 album It’s Time, and his 2007 album Call Me Irresponsible was bigger. Michael is married to Argentinian actress and model Luisana Lopilato, with whom he has two children.
Michael is the son of Amber (Santaga) and Lewis Bublé. His parents are of Italian descent. His father also had Croatian ancestry, from Mali Lošinj.
Michael’s paternal grandfather was Frank Anthony Bublé (the son of Michael/Mitchell Bublé and Olga Anna Maria Gallovich/Gallowich). Frank was from Istria (now part of Croatia). Michael’s great-grandfather Michael was the son of Frank Bublé and Maria Radoslovich/Radorlovich. Olga was the daughter of Antonio/Antony Gallovich/Gallowich and Maria Marsslin/Manolino.
Michael’s paternal grandmother was Nancy. Nancy was also of Italian descent.
Michael’s maternal grandfather was Demetrio/Mitch/Midge Santagà (the son of Ines Morotto and Gino Santaga). Demetrio was from Preganziol, Province of Treviso, Veneto, Italy.
Michael’s maternal grandmother was Yolanda/Iolanda Teresa Moscone (the daughter of Teodoro Moscone and Maria “Marietta” Celli). Yolanda was from Carrufo, Province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy.
Michael has said:
A huge part of my childhood was devoted to my grandparents. They played as big a role in my life as my mother and father, which is fairly typical of Italian immigrant families. My grandparents are second-generation Italians, descending on my mother’s side from a town outside Pescara, on the east coast of Italy. My grandpa Mitch Santaga’s family came to work in the mines in Alberta, where he grew up as a farm boy in a tiny town called Saunders. My dad’s father Frank was born in Vancouver, and his side of the family is from Dalmatia, originally Italian territory that became part of Yugoslavia after the Second World War. On that side of the family, some say we’re Yugoslavian, others that we’re Italian. Both my grandmothers are of Italian descent as well, but were born in Vancouver… As for speaking Italian, I know some words and phrases, but I’m not fluent. My grandparents, as second-generation Italians, are more Italian than the Italians in Italy. Because they left the old country so long ago, they have preserved the old ways and traditions, and passed them down to us. That’s why we share a love of music, food and family.

RIDICULOUS
after all the years reading here and on wikipedia and on so called reliable sources that he is of british, irish, french and german descent
and im here and reading ITALIAN+CROATIAN
I’m persistently not convinced that Bublé is an Italian surname, especially with the accent thing at the end. Maybe some part of the Bublé family lore Michael hasn’t been told of indicates that they originally lived somewhere else rather than Italy. More likely, his ancestors were French Huguenots of whom current members of the Bublé family have no preserved records, as Huguenot migrations occurred centuries ago, and most Italians, unlike U.S. Americans, don’t tend to have very vast documents regarding their genealogy.
And, while I may be wrong on there, old Catholic families in Dalmatia, their surnames ending with -ich, originate not only from Croats but Catholic/ “Croatized” Serbian colonists, as well. The “Radoslavich”, for example, were an old Serbian noble family stationed near Zagreb.

Always thought he was French..
He has this French look/maybe northern Italian look.
Buble is a french name
and he does not look like an italian
and there is not A NORTHERN ITALIAN or SOUTHER ITALIAN LOOK
a lot of groups invaded ITALY
I KNOW a lot of white blue eyed sicilians
It’s a Croatian last name from Trogir (though Michael’s ancestors are actually from Mali Lošinj which isn’t that close).
I guess “Bublé” family was Italian-speaking though. In Frank Bublé Sr.’s obituary, his grandmother Maria is called “biszona” (for Italian “bisnonna”-> great-grandmother”)

I know people of Istrian descent with Slavic-sounding surnames (and even names ) who consider themselves as Italian
Maria appears to be the only one with a non-Slavic last name Manolino, but it appears the rest of Frank’s family was Croatian. Nancy’s sisters are also called Katica and Lucija, so I pretty sure they’re Croatian too.
Michael’s parents are Lewis Bublé and Amber (Santaga).

I love this mans music. Such a big fan. He’s a great performer. I thought he was french Canadian because of his surname. But he’s Italian.
because Bublè was spelled “Buble” (without the accent) or possibly “Bubli”.

Mitch/Midge was the son of Ines Morotto e Gino Santaga, from Preganziol, Province of Treviso, Veneto, Italy
Yolanda was the daughter of Teodoro Moscone and Maria (“Marietta”) Celli, from Carrufo, Province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy.
Michael’s paternal grandfather was from Istria but he was likely an ethnic Italian (Istria is part of Croatia now). Michael’s paternal grandmother, Nancy, had Italian ancestry (she lived in Vancouver’s Little Italy).
There are some people who claim Michael as being part Croatian, btw Michael himself never talked about that.
Her mother is named Amber Santagà. Her parents are both Italians.
Her father Demetrio Santagà is from Preganziol (region of Vèneto) and her mother Iolanda Moscone is from Carrufo (region of Abruzzo).
So Michael Bublé is half Italian !
veneto and abruzzo are in the same country=italy
*buy a map of europe please*
take a map of Italy soon!
Veneto: north-east (Venice ever heard?)
Abruzzo: centre (not far from Rome)
His last name is quebec-french though. It’s weird his last name comes from his ancestors from Italy
f*ck I realized that wasn’t what I was trying to say. Oh well
