Belinda Carlisle is an American singer, musician, and author. She is the lead vocalist of rock band The Go-Go’s. Other members of the band include Charlotte Caffey, Regina Schock, and Jane Wiedlin.

Belinda is the daughter of Joanne and Harold Carlisle. She stated in an interview on Metro.co.uk that her father was Native American. No recent Native American ancestry appears on his family tree.

Belinda is married to politician, film producer, and actor Morgan Mason, with whom she has a son, writer and LGBTQ activist James Duke Mason. Morgan is the son of actor James Mason and actress, author, and screenwriter Pamela Mason.

Belinda’s paternal grandfather was Patrick Hurley Carlisle (the son of Perry E. Carlisle and Martha Jane Williams). Patrick was born in Mississippi. Perry was the son of Edward Carlisle and Martha Ann Molcey Grice. Martha was the daughter of John Wilson Williams and Rachel A. Jordan.

Belinda’s paternal grandmother was Elvia Leona Johnson (the daughter of Richard Pina Johnson and Sallie Anne Morse). Sallie was the daughter of Elijah Jackson Morse and Elizabeth Ann Thetford.

Belinda’s maternal grandfather was named Roy J. Thompson. Roy was born in Sacramento, California.

Belinda’s maternal grandmother was Ruth Jeanette Rook (the daughter of William Franklin Rook and Josephine Levina Onions). Ruth was born in Ohio. William was the son of Charles L. Rooks/Rook and Caroline “Carrie” Ingston/Ingstrom/Ingalton.
