Arnold Palmer was an American professional golfer. He is regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport’s history. In 1998, he won the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award.

Arnold was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to Doris Levina (Morrison) and Milfred Jerome Palmer. He was married to Winnie Walzer, until her death, and then to Kathleen Gawthrop, until his death. he had two daughter with Winnie.

Arnold’s patrilineal line can be traced to Georg Michael Palmer, who was born, c. 1721, in Germany.

Arnold’s paternal grandfather was Alexander Jerome Palmer (the son of Michael S. Palmer and Mary Alice Kuntz). Alexander was born in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. Michael was the son of Michael Palmer and Christina Hayes.

Arnold’s paternal grandmother was Agnes Shanefelter (the daughter of John Shanefelter and Emily Baughman). Agnes was born in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. John was the son of Peter Aloysius Shanefelter and Elizabeth Little. Emily was the daughter of David Harrison Baughman and Mary Delaney, whose father was Irish.

Arnold’s maternal grandfather was Charles David Morrison (the son of David Morrison and Levina Myers). Charles was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. David was the son of Isaac Morrison and Christina Hartman.

Arnold’s maternal grandmother was Inez Claire Kessler (the daughter of John Marshall Kessler and Catherine Riley). Inez was born in Maryland. John was the son of John Kessler and Nancy Smith.
