Michael’s paternal grandfather was Frank Anthony Bublé (the son of Michele/Mitchell/Michael Bublé and Olga Anna Maria Gallovich/Gallowich/Galovic). Frank’s family was from Istria, now part of Croatia. His parents were born in Lussinpiccolo/Mali Lošinj. Michael has said:
my grandparents… played as big a role in my life as my mother and father, which is fairly typical of Italian immigrant families. My grandparents are second-generation Italians, descending on my mother’s side from a town outside Pescara, on the east coast of Italy. My grandpa Mitch Santaga’s family came to work in the mines in Alberta, where he grew up as a farm boy in a tiny town called Saunders. My dad’s father Frank was born in Vancouver, and his side of the family is from Dalmatia, originally Italian territory that became part of Yugoslavia after the Second World War. On that side of the family, some say we’re Yugoslavian, others that we’re Italian. Both my grandmothers are of Italian descent as well, but were born in Vancouver… I know some words and phrases [of Italian], but I’m not fluent. My grandparents, as second-generation Italians, are more Italian than the Italians in Italy. Because they left the old country so long ago, they have preserved the old ways and traditions, and passed them down to us. That’s why we share a love of music, food and family.

I love this mans music. Such a big fan. He’s a great performer. I thought he was french Canadian because of his surname. But he’s Italian.
because Bublè was spelled “Buble” (without the accent) or possibly “Bubli”.

Mitch/Midge was the son of Ines Morotto e Gino Santaga, from Preganziol, Province of Treviso, Veneto, Italy
Yolanda was the daughter of Teodoro Moscone and Maria (“Marietta”) Celli, from Carrufo, Province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy.
Michael’s paternal grandfather was from Istria but he was likely an ethnic Italian (Istria is part of Croatia now). Michael’s paternal grandmother, Nancy, had Italian ancestry (she lived in Vancouver’s Little Italy).
There are some people who claim Michael as being part Croatian, btw Michael himself never talked about that.
Her mother is named Amber Santagà. Her parents are both Italians.
Her father Demetrio Santagà is from Preganziol (region of Vèneto) and her mother Iolanda Moscone is from Carrufo (region of Abruzzo).
So Michael Bublé is half Italian !
veneto and abruzzo are in the same country=italy
*buy a map of europe please*
take a map of Italy soon!
Veneto: north-east (Venice ever heard?)
Abruzzo: centre (not far from Rome)
His last name is quebec-french though. It’s weird his last name comes from his ancestors from Italy
f*ck I realized that wasn’t what I was trying to say. Oh well
