Steve Albini is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer, and music journalist. He is considered a major figure of the Alternative Rock scene.

Steve was born to Gina and Frank Albini. His father was a wildlife researcher, and his family lived for a time in Missoula, Montana. Steve is married to film director Heather Whinna.

Steve’s paternal grandfather was Bruno F. Albini (the son of Augusto/August Albini and Maria/Mary Deserti). Bruno was Italian. Augusto was born in Portomaggiore, Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna.

      Also Wikipedia refers that part of his family comes from Piedmont. Vittorio “Victor” Massasso was born in Isola d’Asti, Asti, Piemont.
