I think it’s about time mixed people had their own category. Just saying, she’s not black, she’s not white, why is she playing a black person, Aaliyah? No more archaic 1 drop bullshit, this is the 21st century. She’s 50% black, 50% white, but we’ll know they won’t be considered her when it’s time to make a Madonna biopic.

Quote(I think it’s about time mixed people had their own category)

Okay, but how would you go about it? Even first generations mixes aren’t mixed the same. Then what about someone whose DNA wise is genetically 50/50 but has two black parents like(Gates). Does he still call himself black or does he now say he’s mixed?

midori29 January 19, 2017 at 7:25 am

@Mettawork please BYE, everyone on earth is mixed. I think people should just limit it to two parents of different races because if you go back far enough “everyone” on earth is African and migrated out of Africa. I am a black person but I got my dna tested as to who on earth I relate to and my dna was all over the world, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, etc. But I am a black person and look black. So thats too complicated. Black means 50% one black parent at least and above. No need to create more confusion. When you look African you are black period and this girl looks African to me more than anything else. She could fit right into South Africa.
South African blacks
East African Black women-she would fit right in

Samiiraa March 24, 2017 at 2:39 am

Her mother is WHITE, she is MIXED, period. Her father is African American, which means OF WEST AFRICAN DESCENT,
So DARK SKINNED, her light skin and feature are the result of an interriacial marriage and she is probably even more European since AA have European ancestry.
The comparison with East Africans and South Africans is completely BS since it has been proven that these people were mixed.
I hate it when self hating blacks feel the need to claim mixed people because they don’t feel good in their black skin. I’m pretty sure you would claim me even if I am only 24% SSA

Quote(Her father is African American, which means OF WEST AFRICAN DESCENT)

Well that could be true, or he could be a combination of different regions . AA’s come from all over Africa, so until her father does a dna test, it’s no telling if he’s West African or from another region.

Quote(I hate it when self hating blacks feel the need to claim mixed people because they don’t feel good in their black skin)

You do know, that many of those so-called mixed people Identify themselves as black people right?

andrew April 8, 2017 at 4:55 am

Dear my Afrocentric (no reason to be offenced) friend, if AA’s come from ALL over mother Africa, why the DNA of AA’s celebs who got tested only matches with West Africa region?

fuzzybear44 April 9, 2017 at 12:06 am

If it isn’t my old Eurocentric buddy. Look I know it’s difficult for people like you of low Intelligence to learn something new, but please try. AA’s are not all from the same stock, I don’t know why that’s so hard for people like you to understand. Both during and After slavery, Africans from other parts of the continent came , settled and intermixed with the black population here. Look at Obama, his father is East African. Obama married a black woman from here. Wouldn’t his daughters have East African DNA? Wouldn’t Tyler Perry child have East African DNA?I seen Dna results of AA’s who have (West African, North, East African, South Eastern African). This guy right here, is West and East African:

This guy here is West, South East, and North:
so are these women here:

Quote( why the DNA of AA’s celebs who got tested only matches with West Africa region?)

What about the Wayans family? Madagascar, is on the East Africa side

andrew April 9, 2017 at 8:33 am

Thanks for the reply. The DNA tests you showed just confirm what I’ve said, that AA’s are pred. West African. North/East/Southeast % are negligible.

fuzzybear44 April 9, 2017 at 1:48 pm

no, what it shows is that a AA can have ancestry from different parts of Africa, not just west Africa. You’re just not man enough to admit that once again , you don’t know anything (which is nothing new)

Quote(confirm what I’ve said, that AA’s are pred. West African. )

That’s not what you said. You said they were only West African and you were only taking about the celebrities Dna test. You can’t remember what you wrote, even when it’s right in front of you. On top that, that’s just a few examples out of 40 something million black people here

andrew April 10, 2017 at 5:26 am

It does not mean that they have ancestors enslaved in other parts of Africa, West Africans share a tiny portion of their DNA with people from other parts of the continent, that’s logical, and their descendants show it in DNA tests.

fuzzybear44 April 10, 2017 at 11:31 pm

1.Quote(It does not mean that they have ancestors enslaved in other parts of Africa)

What are you talking about? They got those bloodlines from black people in the states. Black people who came here of their own free will. Also because of white peoples racist mindset, subjugated them to black peoples areas, where they mixed in.

2.Quote(West Africans share a tiny portion of their DNA with people from other parts of the continent, that’s logical, and their descendants show it in DNA tests.)

That’s not how the American blacks got those makers. They got them during and after slavery. Anyone black was fair game to be taken as a slave whether they be (North , East or South African). As I stated before, North Africans were taken first, not West Africans.

Also from what I can see on this chart, everyone seems to share a little bit from everyone else:

Adamina September 10, 2016 at 3:52 pm

She looks a lot like one of my aunts who is 3/4 Senegambian, 1/4 Morrocan. I have a half Norwegian, Half Senegambian cousin who looks Blasian. He is always mistaken for half Japanese. His dad (who is full African) has Vietnamese eyes. Mixed people have no fixed look. You can’t always guess their ethnicity right by looking at them

fuzzybear44 April 18, 2016 at 1:18 am

How come when Zendaya was going to be Aaliyah, there was this, she’s half white and this and that. Yet when Alexandra took the role, no one said anything on here

sparkles180 August 8, 2015 at 2:26 pm

She’s on house of anubis!! i love her!

xoxo July 30, 2015 at 9:59 pm

Her mom looks white but she looks half Asian. Doesn’t make sense, I thought she was Japanese/Black or Korean/Black.

Daron July 29, 2015 at 6:34 pm

She looks half Asian.

M June 4, 2015 at 7:10 pm

I’d like to see a picture of her mother. She looks like every Blasian I’ve seen. There’s no way she’s half white. Maybe she’s adopted and considers her “white” mother her biological mother. Her mother must have have some Asian genes, maybe even her dad.

M June 5, 2015 at 8:48 pm

Well excuse me, jerk. I didn’t happen to see that message when I wrote that, unless it was added after I commented. No reason to be a smartass.

Jaiylyn April 5, 2015 at 9:20 am

She looks VERY Oriental influenced. I bet anyone would think she’s Blasian or at least a little Chinese/Vietnamese.

M June 5, 2015 at 8:49 pm

Who says oriental anymore?? Are you from the 50s? That’s considered racist these days.

Kimmel June 10, 2016 at 6:39 am

Depends on where you are from. In England we say ‘Oriental’, ‘mixed-race’ and ‘mulatto’. Natives are fine with it. Guess it depends on the current & past issues in the given country.

Capricious April 5, 2015 at 5:30 am

Looks very Asian.

midori29 February 5, 2015 at 10:47 am

She is average looking. For some reason she is getting alot of movie rolls playing African American women , ie. Aaliyah. Some people think all biracials are pretty. She is just blaaah.

noneofyourbusiness February 6, 2015 at 8:41 am

Jealous much? She’s a very pretty girl.

midori29 February 6, 2015 at 8:50 am

Not jealous, I am just telling the truth .She is average. There are many many girls prettier than her on this site. i do not know why she is popular , likely becaus eher mom is white. I hated the fact that she playe Aaliyah in th ebiopic, she did a terribel job. She cannot act. Lots of women look better. I love Alicia keys, Halle Berry, lots of other biracials but she sucks.

midori29 February 6, 2015 at 8:51 am

She is not ugly but not pretty either. I have said other women are pretty Christina Millian, Megan Goode, etc.. I have admixtures too , so its not that.

Check7t January 28, 2015 at 9:30 pm

Looks Blasian.

noneofyourbusiness January 31, 2015 at 8:30 am

I thought the same thing.

follers July 12, 2018 at 1:09 am

Well, I’ve just put up all her mother’s side, and they are not, as it turns out, Asians.

andrew July 12, 2018 at 4:06 am

you forgot to report her Northern Irish/Scots-Irish ancestry (Stephenson line). “Jacobs” might be German

maternal grandparents:

Cy Armstrong’s paternal grandfather was also born in Northern Ireland, it’s mentioned here:
