Will Hurd is an American politician. A Republican, he served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas, from January 3, 2015 to January 3, 2021. He has also been a CIA clandestine officer.

He was a candidate for the Republican Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2024.

Will is the son of Mary Alice (Knapp) and Robert Edward Hurd. His father is black and his mother was white. Will is married to Lynlie Wallace. Lynlie has been chief of staff to Texas State Representative Lyle Larson.

Will’s paternal grandfather was Robert Edward Hurd, Sr. (the son of Walter/Wallie Hurd/Heard and Mollie Jones). Robert was born in Texas.

Will’s paternal grandmother was Sammie Juanita Maxey (the daughter of Sam Maxey, Jr. and Annie McClain). Will’s grandmother Sammie was born in Texas.
