He is the son of Maria Cartagena and Ernesto Delgado. Fat Joe is married to Lorena Rios, and has three children.

Cuba is 67-70% black, whites are a minority. The majority of white Cubans fled the island when Castro took over. It is vastly black, as many who are not black are mixed with black. And Fat Joe is obviously of African descent. Almost all Puerto Ricans are mixed with black, white and indian, regardless of physical appearance. Some people are 100% black or 100% white, although it is rare unless they are descended from recent european immigrants. Even though most puerto ricans are mixed, most on the island claim to be 1000 percent white, yes one thousand not one hundred percent white. Most puerto ricans in the u.s. claim to be other, mixed, or tri-racial. Most Cubans are black and predominately black at that with some spanish and very little native heritage. A lot of them are biracial with black and spanish too. I hope this clears up some things for you. Fat Joe is from the same neighborhood as my dad, and is of the same ethnicity pr & cuban, and has about the same skin color. My dad is black on both sides-Cuban and Puerto Rican. All of my grandparents are black or part black.

He Says the “N” Because most hispanics especially Puerto Ricans Cuban and Dominicans have a significant amount of african blood in their ancestry. Hence the terms Afro-Cuban etc.
