Nikki was born in Bamberg, South Carolina, the daughter of father Ajit Singh Randhawa and mother Raj Kaur Randhawa. Her parents are Indian emigrants, with roots in Pandori Ran Singh, Tarn Taran District, Punjab. Her father is a college professor, and her mother was a teacher, who started a clothing boutique, Exotica International. The name Nikki means “Little One” in Punjabi.

Nikki is married to Michael Haley, a commissioned officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard. The couple has two children. Michael was adopted as a small child from the foster care system, taking on his adoptive parents’ surname Haley. Nikki was born a Sikh, and is now a practicing Methodist, her husband’s religion. The couple married in both Methodist and Sikh ceremonies. Pictures of Nikki with her husband, children, and mother, can be seen here.

During Nikki’s 2024 presidential run, she won 2 primaries. She is the first woman to have won a presidential nominating contest for the Republican Party, and the first Asian-American to have won any party’s; with her win in the Washington, D.C. primary. Nikki is one of several Asian-Americans to have mounted a notable campaign for a major political party’s nomination for President of the United States. The others were/are:
*Hiram Fong (who sought the 1964 and 1968 Republican nominations; Fong was of Chinese descent)
*Patsy Mink (who sought the 1972 Democratic nomination; Mink was of Japanese descent)
*Bobby Jindal (who sought the 2016 Republican nomination; Jindal is of Indian descent)

Kamala Harris began serving as Vice President of the United States in 2021.

Nikki is one of five people who were at least partly raised in the Hindu faith, or a Hindu-related faith, to have run for a major party’s presidential nomination. Bobby Jindal, Tulsi Gabbard, who also sought the Democratic Party’s 2020 nomination; Kamala Harris, and Vivek Ramaswamy, are the others. Of the five, only Tulsi and Vivek identify as Hindu presently.

Margaret Chase Smith was the first woman to launch a notable campaign for a major political party’s presidential nomination, in 1964, for the Republican Party. Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to have been nominated for Vice President of the United States by a major party, the Democratic Party, in 1984, and Hillary Clinton is the first woman to have been nominated for the Presidency by a major party, the Democratic Party, in 2016. Shirley Chisholm won three non-traditional nominating contests in 1972, for the Democratic Party; Hillary Clinton and Nikki Haley have since been the only women to have won a major party’s presidential nominating contest, with Clinton winning 23 in 2008 and 34 in 2016, for the Democratic Party. Kamala Harris is the first woman to serve as either President or Vice President of the United States.

She’s Caucasian, but not White, which is obvious. When you determine race you look at facial features, DNA and not skin colour you do know that? Plus why does she carry the blue-eyed gene then? Plus is this sexy woman not Caucasian? So Iranian, Armenians, Turkish people are not white either? https://instagram.com/p/yD-7fvDSXQ/?taken-by=preetijaan

She is INDIAN Can you not read? Her parents are from india, they are not white…. her husband is white you moron. Her parents are not white and born from idia. Her parents are full bloodied indians from india. Why are trying to make her Caucasian?

      You are correct.

So Osama bin Laden an Arab is white, but Nikki Haley a Punjabi Sikh is non-white? Plus her caste has more NE European DNA than Iranians, Arabs and even Italians which has been confirmed by many DNA test’s on her community. Also, how come Nikki Haley’s children have pure blue eyes? Which we know the gene comes from Ukraine and her caste has been proven to descend from the Sarmatian Scythian Aryans.

She isn’t white. She is Indian. Why are people trying to make her what she is not? She knows she isn’t white. Well maybe she wants to be but her parents aren’t. She is just a lighter Indian. Indians come in many different shades. Even Caucasians come in different shades pending on what area of Europe. When I look at her closely I see Indian. She certainly would not be mistaken for someone native of untied kingdom, france, spain, germany, poland, Ukraine etc. She just happens to be a lighter indian. Hell I know an Indian lighter than her!

she’s not White=European but she’s Caucasian. That’s why she actually looks kinda European, even thought slightly different

She looks Iranian in this pic

Most ridiculous statement ever. She’s not white but she’s Caucasian? I think you have expanded the Caucasian race just a tad bit. Her parents are Indians, born in India. She might be seen as white in West Africa but that’s it! Lol.. she is just a lighter indian. But her hair, facial structure, cheeks, nose, eyes favor someone who are Indian, south asia origin. I’ve seen many people doing my life who were Indian and have her traits. She does not look white or Caucasian. At best she could pass for arab, Nepalese, middle eastern. You guys have an expanded view on what a Caucasian is and Indian. If she was just a tone darker no way would you all be saying this.

          • andrew says:

yes, she’s not white/European but to an untrained eye she looks it, as in the profile pic. The one I posted is the most exotic I found.

      • Man in NY says:

Believe it or not, from an anthropological perspective, most people in India are considered Caucasian, including those who are dark as “Black” Africans.

        • andrew says:

I dont believe that. Indians are a mixture of Caucasians, Australoids and even Mongoloids.

        • cwm85 says:

There are many different ethnic groups on India. But pure Indians are NOT Caucasian there origins are from a totally different genetic makeup. They are part of south Asia. Indians and those of north asia believe or not or more related.

          • Adrian1Cram says:

Cwm85 there’s no such thing as “pure indian”, indian isn’t a race – this defies your entire point. That’s like saying pure canadians or pure hispanics.

Also like it or not, indians are put under the caucasian group, that is a fact, not believing it won’t change the facts. I’m sorry.

  3. cwm85 says:

She doesn’t look white… she looks like a lighter Indian. People really need to read a book on different people of europe and India. She doesn’t look full european, Caucasian at all.

  4. sparkles180 says:

She looks fully white, especially with that straight smile. Would have never guessed her ethnicity.

  5. cwm85 says:

Most people from the region her parents are from are lighter Indians. I think she has tried to mostly ignore her race in political office.
