Stan Musial, full name Stanley Frank Musial, was an American professional baseball player. An outfielder and first baseman, he played for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB), for twenty two seasons. He is in the Hall of Fame. He was nicknamed “Stan the Man.”

Stan was the son of Mary (Lancos) and Lukasz Musiał. His father was Polish. His mother was of Carpatho-Rusyn descent. He was married to Lillian Susan Labash, until her death. The couple had four children.

Stan’s paternal grandfather was named Jan or Piotr Musiał.
