        Sarcasm0(

        • lol says:

The national Census of India do NOT recognize ANY racial groups in India. They did away with racial classifications in 1951.They have racial admixture in India Caucasoids Australoids,Mongoloids and Negritios.India is very mixed they call themselves Indian they don`t care much for racial status. Why do you think they are brown? admixture obviously..You can`t mix some races through the years and call it the brown race that`s just stupid (“they have there own race the brown race”) ::P now i have heard it all.

      • me says:

yes, but the term “brown” is not correct, they are Southern Asian .

        • lol says:

          Yes i know im right.

          • lol says:

India is South Asian not South East for you info :P))

          • Nick says:

Brown is just a slang used for various different groups of people who aren`t fully black or not white! Where i live it`s generally referred to Indians, Sri Lankans, Bengalis, Pakistanis, Nepalese, Afghans, and sometimes Arabs! But this changes from place to place, as in many places when u say brown it means brown like latino, in many places it means brown like Middle eastern, and in many places brown as in South Asian! It`s just a slang term really

    • KEMET says:

      SHE NOT WHITE

SHE IS INDIAN – SO SHE BROWN

Freda Pinto is Goan. They are dravidians and she is typical of that group of people.
Padma Laksmi is Tamil and she is typical of that group.
Aishwarya Rai was born in the south, speaks Telugi but is a north Indian.
Other northern Indians are Priety Zinta ,Kareena Kapoor,Karishma Kapoor .
Kajol and Rani Mukerjee are Bengalis.

For each of these you get hundreds of girls looking like them.Kajol is dark and a Bollywood actress.Rekka was dark and a superstar so there is no big thing about colour. But point is that the caucasion element is there from north to south. Its strongest in the north. They are a poor country and have no time for gimmicks.Thats them and I think non Indians are more vexed with colour than Indians are.
Non Indians seem to think that Indians look like that bcuz they want to be white.Sorry…..Indians are Aryans and caucasian by genetics. The caucasia of history and genetics is only up the road from India.Google up Rohit Bal,Rohail Hyatt,Saif Ali Khan,Hritk Roshan while you are at it.

    • Nick says:

Indians are either Indo Aryan or Dravidian, not Aryan

    • Europa says:

How can she be Dravidian with such a pale skin tone? She’s obvioulsly belonging to a different ethnic group

      • ne__a says:

Sorry but there are as many light skin dravidians as there are dark skin indo aryans. I’m one too. And her skin is not pale.
The aryans migrated 4000 years ago, you can find brown and pale colored people in the darkest tribes of South and East India.
As far as the south asian mainland is concerned race is a spectrum. You have higher indigenous DNA your dravidian, higher steppe your aryan. But both these guys can have light and dark coloring opposed to what’s usually expected respectively. And it’s a lot more common than one would think.

    • ne__a says:

Aishwarya Rai is NOT a north indian, neither does she speak telugu. She speaks a language called Tulu. Her, and frieda pinto are both from the south western coast of India. The aryan migration pattern is from north west to the south east, which is why the people of maharashtra are lighter than the people of west bengal. That being said, south west India has had a centuries long trade relationship with west asians and europe, causing them to look “more caucasian” or whatever. Despite being deep south and speaking dravidian languages, lighter complexions and lighter eyes are not all that rare. That being said, Aishwarya Rai,Shilpa shetty all look very typically south indian, becuase even though lighter eyes and skin have been allowed to be selected positively due to the topography and cool climate of the western ghats, for every one west eurasian ancestor in their lineage, they have 10 others who are native.

She is BEAUTIFUL, a BEAUTIFUL Indian lady. Tis all.

  5. Lizzy says:

She’s NOT Hispanic/Latina, her ancestors probably converted to Christianity when the Portuguese colonized India, or maybe on of her ancestors married a Portuguese person but that was a long time ago and there was a ton of mixing with Indian after that so obviously she doesn’t look Hispanic.

    • Angantyr says:

True. Most Indian Catholics actually just took Portuguese surnames. There are a group of Portuguese-Indians, and she might have some ancestry from them but she might not.
