Diane Sawyer is an American journalist. She is the daughter of Jean W. (Dunagan) and Erbon Powers “Tom” Sawyer, a county judge. She was married to director, producer, actor, and comedian Mike Nichols, until his death.

In this interview she said she is mostly Scotch-Irish with a bit of English and German. I’m not sure if she has Irish ancestry because she’s talking about Banbridge which is in Northern Ireland.
