the “Collins” line traces back to Henry M. Collins’s great-grandfather, John Collins, born c. 1715, in Ireland, and to his wife, Jane Major, born in Lancashire, England.

beautiful women

neiltennant July 28, 2015 at 1:31 pm

not all black women and men who had *** with whites were results of rape

there are a lot of secret dating couples

neiltennant July 28, 2015 at 1:32 pm

there were a lot of couples

neiltennant July 28, 2015 at 7:07 am

please look at her mother

more lighter skin than her daughter and wonderful blue eyes

and be sure that she is definitely mixed and not only african american

angrygirl19 September 14, 2015 at 12:30 pm

those blue eyes could have easily come from old age. my grandparents have grey and blue eyes too, but that’s because theyre old.

neiltennant January 1, 2016 at 5:44 am

no i talk about her mother when she was in her 40s when she was shown drilling WHITNEY to pegaent events

neiltennant July 9, 2015 at 12:48 pm

Seba you sound like an immature fool. A lot of African Americans are mixed raced because many were raped back in the day. The blacks seem to almost boast how, ” Great grandpa Willy was English”, when there’s a high chance it was due to rape. So many seem to talk about how generations ago they had a white grandparent, when they look black. Nobody cares, you look black.

neiltennant July 28, 2015 at 1:31 pm

not only raped but also secret love and relationship

arjanguelsk August 11, 2014 at 10:35 am

Many African Americans have white and native ancestors. i see this information in IMDB too and its sound logic to me.

Uniscorn August 9, 2014 at 3:45 am

She has Dutch ancestry.

follers August 9, 2014 at 9:47 am

That’s never been verified.

amckenzie July 16, 2014 at 12:19 am

“CORRECTION”
Sorry if I’m misunderstanding this, but why is Whitney Houston’s ethnicity listed as “African-American, with distant English, Irish, Scottish?” Where is her “English, Irish, and Scottish” ancestry documented/verified? I believe that there is more verification in her Dutch and Native American ancestry just due to the fact that that information is coming directly from her mother… :)

follers July 16, 2014 at 9:02 am

Her maternal great-great-grandfather John Jett McCaskill had Scottish and English ancestry, and she had Irish-born ancestors through her father’s “Collins” line.
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=dowfam3&id=I436477

I don’t think any Dutch or Native American ancestry has ever been documented for Whitney Houston.

amckenzie July 17, 2014 at 3:29 am

Okay, thank you so much for the clarification! :)

Taylor December 1, 2013 at 10:26 am

Most if not all, African Americans have white and native ancestors unless they’re of recent immigration. Very few don’t have that blood

neiltennant May 11, 2013 at 1:54 pm

wherever i look i see that the ”pure” and only black people who claim to be blacks + proud have also european ancestors

that is a good feeling and shows me that racism is stupidity

neiltennant May 11, 2013 at 2:02 pm

really ?

that did not make sense

african americans came as slaves to america

nnnnn May 11, 2013 at 2:09 pm

How “they are mixed with their slave-owners”????

neiltennant May 11, 2013 at 2:11 pm

awesome informations

at school in germany and even in the us children are learning that Blacks and Whites were separated
but that cannot be

nnnnn May 11, 2013 at 2:17 pm

I thought, white people were racistic and considered
blacks slaves as “not clean”. Maybe, victorian ladies
had “migraine” 360 days in year, so men must to
have sex with black women

fuzzybear44 May 12, 2013 at 3:14 am

@neiltennant

Yes most of the original stock were enslaved,However there were also thousands of free ones(free born and freed indentured servants)

fuzzybear44 May 12, 2013 at 3:49 am

@ neiltennant

( in the us children are learning that Blacks and Whites were separated
but that cannot be)

Yes separated, but that only apply to black people, whites went where they wanted. All you ever heard are stories of the black girls having to carry small knives with them, because of the white men

fuzzybear44 May 12, 2013 at 4:00 am

@Follers and NNNN

(blacks slaves as “not clean”.”)

Savage ,inferior, and over sex. However I’ve never seen the words (not clean) used. This could have been said,I’ve just never seen it.They said the same thing about Indians, Irish women and Asians women, but it never stop them either.

nnnnn May 12, 2013 at 1:43 pm

Likewise children in USA schools learn, that Hitler
was found of blond russians, anglos and dutches,
and killed only “dark” ones

Are you guys fn retarded?! it says they are her ancestors from the 1700s! All african americans have at least 1 white ancestor! Espially from that era. She was beautiful, but she wasn’t mixed! Im tired of people promoting the idea hat the only way A BLACK WOMAN can can be beauiftul is if shes mixed!

illwill September 9, 2012 at 11:17 am

African American itself is mixed, She is biracial. Really I would rather be called what I actually am rather than what im not.I really dont listen 2 a one drop rule that was made by a white man in slave days, And white/black really arent even race, Most people are mixed somewhere along the line, and the 1700’s would mean 2 generations ago for whitney houston, so that’s not ancestry. “Your trppin”

illwill September 9, 2012 at 11:22 am

there are dozens of types of africans who live in germany

many of them are totally brown/black

but there are also eritrearins or people from ethopia, who are not so black like those

whitney houston might be one of those

BUT !!

as she was an american, one can say 100 percent that most of the us blacks descended from countries, in which black slaves were very black

those who look more white or mixed are partly white

sadie March 22, 2012 at 2:58 am

She was a beautiful singer what a waste on drugs and alcohol. You know her daughter has her dads looks sooooo UGLY! She only has boyfriends because of family money! You all know this is the truth admit it!!

She did looked mixed because she had caramel skin. If she look like Alek Wek or the same complexion as Wesley Snipes, then I could understand why you would say that she doesn’t look mixed.

Seba March 21, 2012 at 6:49 pm

Chief Nato Mulatto! U stand to be corrected because u can’t always tell by complexion!!!! I am fair skin and my siblings are considered dark skin and we have the same parents!!! Damit people!!!! IM GONNA SAY IT AGAAAAIN!!! SO LONG AS U R PEOPLE OF COLOR LIVING IN AMERICA U ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS STAND A GREATER CHANCE OF HAVING MIXED ANCESTRY!!!! GET THIS THRU UR THICK SCULLS!!! GENETICS MAY BE DIFFICULT BUT ITS NOT THAT DAMN DIFFICULT NOR IS IT AS IGNORANT AS SOME OF U SOUND!!!! WHEW HOW HEAVILY ROOTED IS RACISM IN AMERICA DAMN IT??? DUMB CLUTTS!!!!

Kerrywhite September 22, 2014 at 6:29 pm

She’s not mulatto. Mulatto is a term for someone who comes from a white parent and a black parent(50%BLack/50%White)

Nathalie March 22, 2012 at 3:23 pm

A person can certainly be genetically mixed, but genetics and the person’s self identification of ethnicity is a tricky topic. They do not go hand in hand all the time. Often what genetics and far 3, 4 generation charted family trees say about the person’s lineage and blood line is a fact, but how can anyone expect a person to just suddenly accept him/herself as mixed when they self identity more as the ethnicity he/she felt a strong connection and part of in the cultural and familial aspects?
We’re just the people on the outside looking into a person’s genetic history and ancestors, and certainty it’s easy to dub that person with the title “mixed” based on ancestry or the possible ambiguity of the person’s looks that may make us think they are mixed, but ultimately, it’s the choice of the person in question to self identity as whatever ethnicity he/she feels most comfortable with.

Commonsense1980 November 22, 2011 at 9:04 pm

@liyah

Its because of common struggles. Native Americans and African Americas got the short end of the stick and found themselves in similar areas. The were in the same social/economic status.
If you go to Detroit of Baltimore you see “”Ghetto Blacks” and “Traitor park trash” (not my words) living in the same areas, and often intermingling (going to the same places, and making babies with each other) that’s the nature of things.

LamarteStaton October 25, 2011 at 1:09 pm

I don’t like when someone is something and people are still Ohh she black,no she’s a black Indian that’s some ones of African, and Native American anscerty. So u mean to tell me since im mixed with African-American,Caucasin,And three diffrent types of Native American that im black. No idenfy as Mullato which is a person having a black, and one white parent or more broadly a person of black and white,or native anscerty.

Jasmine June 2, 2011 at 9:00 pm

Ok wait stop right there before you go BUT look it says “Whitney’s mother Cissy stated in an interview that she has Dutch and Native American ancestors.” Okay yeah shes still considered African American I am African American and have white blood in me as well BIG WHOOP most of us are mixed with something. What I meant by that previous statement is that I knew before coming here that she was a black woman, and in the end having distant relatives that were one race or another isn’t the same as being a biracial person that has 1 mother and 1 father that are 2 completely different races.

Seba December 15, 2011 at 10:22 pm

Jasmine,
Get it together hon, your explaining to us that you yourself have caucasian roots! So your right when you say BIG WHOOP! Dont worry Jasmine I understand exactly where you are coming from having mixed ancestry and being directly biracial are two totally different things i dont dip in dab in what race i am descended from on this side or that but I do know that im proud to be African American..mixed race mixed ancestry or not lol

If most African Americans are more than just black, then ¨African American¨is a misnomer and this ethnic group needs to find another name to call themselves– American?

Jimmyboy November 22, 2011 at 8:58 pm

@@@@American87

If that the case everyone should change their name!! 33% of “White Americans” have African ancestry, acquired over the last 400 years.

People dont have DNA glasses, so… if you look black people call you black, if you look white people call you white.
Hell both my parents are blond and I have brown hair, nobody’s going to call me Blondie because of my heritage……

Ethnic, Can You Put This As A Brief Summary Of Whitney Please:

is an American R&B/pop singer, actress, and former fashion model. A relative of several prominent soul singers, including her mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dee Dee and Dionne Warwick and godmother Aretha Franklin, Houston began singing at her New Jersey church as a member of a junior gospel choir at age eleven. After she began performing alongside her mother at night clubs in the New York City area, she was discovered by Arista Records label head Clive Davis.

Houston is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums and singles worldwide. She is ranked as the fourth best-selling female artist in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America, with 55 million certified albums. She has been listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.

total23 June 12, 2010 at 8:09 am

Yea We Know! Regardless If She Is A Dutch And Native American Descent She’s Black, Because She Has More Black Ancestors. And Plus She Usually Say “My People” Which She Is Obviously Referring To Black People!

So She Is A Black Woman Because She Self-Identify Herself As Black!

Love You Whitney Houston!

Nathalie February 19, 2012 at 6:29 pm

Well, yes, I have to agree with that. A person can have distant ancestors of another ethnicity, but overall a person can choose to identity with who they know him/herself as, and I believe Whitney knew herself as a black american woman. Yes, she has dutch and native american ancestors, but that’s only in the blood. I’m not dismissing what’s in the blood, but her self identification was as a black woman, not a mixed black woman. I think it’d be very hard for a person to identity as dutch and native american if he/she does not really have a real solid cultural connection to those roots, especially if it’s several generations far back. That’s all I’m saying.
