Paulina Vega is a Colombian television host, model, and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss Colombia 2013 and Miss Universe 2014.

Paulina is the daughter of Laura Dieppa Castillo and Rodolfo Vega Llamas. She is a second cousin, once removed, of television host and model Ariadna Gutiérrez.

Paulina’s paternal grandfather was Gastón Armando Vega Schortborgh (the son of Armando Vega Montes and María Saturnina Schotborgh Saya). Gastón was a famous tenor. Paulina’s great-grandfather Armando was the son of Francisco Vega and Éster Emiliana Montes. María Saturnina was the daughter of Luis Gonzaga Schotborgh Orozco and María de los Dolores Saya Santos. Luis’ father, Peter Martelaar, or Pedro Mártir in Spanish, Schotborgh, was Curaçaoan, and had partial Dutch ancestry.

Paulina’s paternal grandmother was Carmen Éster Llamas Castillo (the daughter of José Pompeyo Sarmiento, later Llamas Sarmiento, and of María Trinidad Castillo Rincón). Pompeyo was the son of Mariano Olegario Llamas Bossio and Josefa Leopolda Sarmiento Medría. Mariano’s father, José Manuel Llamas Irenso, was a Spanish priest. Paulina’s great-grandmother Trinidad was the daughter of Justo Rafael Castillo Arnedo and Hipólita Rincón Hernández.

Paulina’s maternal grandfather was Jaime Eduardo Dieppa Manco (the son of Carlos Manuel Dieppa Delgado and Lucila Manco Palacio). Jaime was born in Barranquilla, Atlántico. Carlos was born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela, the son of Felipe Dieppa [Álvarez] and Amparo Delgado [Mateos]. Lucila was the daughter of an Italian filmmaker, Floro Manco, of Scalea, Cosenza, and of Dilia Palacio.

Paulina’s maternal grandmother is Elvira Susana Castillo Gómez (the daughter of Roberto Castillo [Pineda] and Clara Elvira Gómez Támara). Paulina’s grandmother Elvira was Miss Atlántico 1953. Clara was the daughter of Andrés Gómez Patrón and Adolfina Támara López.

Paulina’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to her seventh great-grandmother, María Marta de Urueta.

    Dieppa in Puerto Rico traces back to Canary Islands (and evidently Normandy before). For Venezuela/Colombia likely as well.

    Same for Canarian surname “Febres” (see Jennifer Lopez) that is French in origin (Le Febvre)
