Prince George of Wales is a member of the British Royal Family, and is second in line to the throne of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. He is the son of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales. He is the grandson of Charles III, who has been King of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, since 8 September, 2022, and of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the great-grandson of Elizabeth II, who was Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, from 6 February, 1952 to 8 September, 2022, and of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

He is the nephew of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Pippa Middleton, and a cousin of Prince Archie of Sussex. His paternal first cousin, once removed, is Princess Beatrice of York.

Prince George’s paternal grandfather is Charles III (the son of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and of Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom). King Charles was born in Buckingham Palace, Westminster, London. Prince Philip was born in Mon Repos, Corfu, Kingdom of Greece, and was the son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, who was born in Athens, and of Princess Alice of Battenberg, who was born at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, England. Prince George’s great-grandmother Elizabeth II was born in Mayfair, London, England, the daughter of George VI, who was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, from 11 December, 1936 to 6 February, 1952, and Emperor of India, from 11 December, 1936 to 15 August, 1947; and of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

Prince George’s paternal grandmother was Diana, Princess of Wales (the daughter of Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and of The Honourable Frances Roche). Princess Diana was born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. The 8th Earl Spencer was the son of Albert Edward John Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer, and of Lady Cynthia Elinor Beatrix Hamilton Spencer. Frances was the daughter of Edmund Maurice Burke Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy, and of Ruth Sylvia Gill Roche, Baroness Fermoy, who was born at Dalhebity, Bielside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Prince George’s maternal grandfather is Michael Francis Middleton (the son of Peter Francis Middleton and Valerie Glassborow). Michael was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Peter was the son of Richard Noël Middleton and Olive Christiana/Christina Lupton. Valerie was born in Marseille, France, the daughter of English parents, Frederick George Glassborow and Constance Robison.

Prince George’s maternal grandmother is Carole Elizabeth Goldsmith (the daughter of Ronald John James Goldsmith and Dorothy Harrison). Carole was born in Perivale, Middlesex, England. Ronald was the son of Stephen Charles Goldsmith and Edith Eliza Chandler. Dorothy was the daughter of Thomas Harrison and Elizabeth Mary Temple.
