Tony Danza is an American actor, television personality, tap dancer, boxer, and teacher. He is known for his roles on the shows Taxi and Who’s the Boss?, and the film Angels in the Outfield (1994). He was the host of The Tony Danza Show from 2004 to 2006.

Tony is the son of Anna/Anne Mary and Matthew “Matty” Anthony Iadanza. His father was born in Brooklyn, to Italian parents, from Campania. His mother was an Italian emigrant, born in Campobello, Mazara, Trapani, Sicily. He has two children with his former wife Rhonda Yeoman, and two children with his former wife Tracy Robinson.

A DNA test whose results were displayed on the show Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (2022) stated that Tony’s genetic ancestry consists of:

Tony’s paternal grandfather was named Anthony/Antonio “Tony” Iadanza. Anthony was born in Pietrelcina, Benevento, Campania, Italy.

Tony’s paternal grandmother was Giovanna “Jenny”/Jennie Zarro (the daughter of Giovanni Maria Zarro and Filomena Maria D’Andrea). Giovanna was born in Pietrelcina. Filomena was the daughter of Antonio Maria D’Adrea and Domenica Maria Orlando.

Tony’s maternal grandfather was named Antonino/Tony Camisa/Cammisa. Antonino was born in Campobello, Mazara, Trapani, Sicily.

Tony’s maternal grandmother was Anna/Antonina Tummarello (the daughter of Antonino Tummarello and Anna Caracci). Anna’s family was Sicilian.
