Shanna Besson is a French actress and photographer.

She is the daughter of actress Maïwenn and filmmaker Luc Besson. Shanna’s aunt, mother’s sister, is actress Isild Le Besco.

Shanna’s paternal grandfather was Claude Besson (the son of Paul Besson and Lucienne Joséphine Louise Besson). Paul was the son of Abraham Jules Besson and Françoise Louise Vaneycken, who was born in Brussels, Belgium, of Flemish descent. Lucienne was the daughter of Ernest Besson and Berthe Joséphine Leluan.

Shanna’s paternal grandmother was named Danièle Plane.

Shanna’s maternal grandfather is Patrick Pierre Louis Le Besco, a linguist and doctor in Celtic literature (the son of René Antoine Louis Le Besco and Colette Jacqueline Marie Paul Bonny). Patrick has been described as “half-Breton half-Vietnamese.” René was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, the son of Louis Le Besco, who was born in Lochrist, Morbihan, Brittany, and was a banker for the Bank de l’Indochine; and of Jeanne Suzanne Paule Clément. Colette was the daughter of Pierre Bonny and Jeanne Constance Jannot.

Shanna’s maternal grandmother is actress Catherine Belkhodja (the daughter of Kadour Belkhodja and Jeanne/Jean Malborgne/Mauborgne). Kadour was born in Algeria, and was of Kabyle Berber descent. Jeanne was born in Méru, Oise, Hauts-de-France, France.
