Paul was the son of Cheryl Ann (Crabtree), a model, and Paul W. Walker III, a contractor and boxer who was a Golden Gloves champion. Among his siblings is actor Cody Walker. Paul was of mostly English ancestry, with a smaller amount of German roots, along with distant Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Scottish, and Swiss-German. His family tree included (relatively) recent emigrants from England and Germany, as well as English roots from ancestors who had long lived in New England, and elsewhere in the U.S.

Paul had a daughter, actress and model Meadow Walker, with his former partner Rebecca Soteros.

Paul’s paternal grandfather was Paul William Walker II (the son of Paul William Walker and Harriett/Harriet June Willey). Paul’s grandfather Paul was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California. He was a boxer, known as “Irish” Billie Walker, but it is not clear if he had any Irish ancestry. Paul’s great-grandfather Paul was born in Monroe, Green, Wisconsin, the son of English-born parents, George Walker and Anna/Anne/Ann Augusta Tilley, who was born in Clerkenwell, London. Paul’s great-grandmother Harriett was born in Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Leon Willey, whose family had deep roots in Massachusetts, and of Ella Pearl Clark. Ella’s mother’s maiden name was also Walker.

Paul’s paternal grandmother was June Vivian Oefinger (the daughter of Elmer John Oefinger and Betsey/Betsy Idell Spooner). June was born in Meriden, New Haven, Connecticut. Elmer was born in Greenfield, Franklin, Massachusetts, the son of Johannes “John” Oefinger, a German emigrant, from Trossingen, Württemberg, and of Louisa/Louise Ann/C. Stark, who was born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, to German immigrants, Ludwig Frederick “Lewis” Stark and Mary/Marie Rechert/Richert. Paul’s great-grandmother Betsey was born in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut, the daughter of William H. Spooner and Annie Woodruff Smith, who were from families long-resident in the United States, and of English descent.

Paul’s maternal grandfather was George Milton Crabtree (the son of Louis Franklin Crabtree and Nina Letha Price). George was born in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri. Louis was born in Stillwater, Payne, Oklahoma, the son of George Ransom Crabtree and Dorcia/Dorothy/Doscia Griswald. Nina was the daughter of Clyde Delmar Price and Daisy Jane McGrew.

Paul’s maternal grandmother was Viola Annalee Smith (the daughter of Lester O. Smith and Hazel Clarinda Mitchell). Viola was born in Missouri. Lester was born in Elwood, Doniphan, Kansas, the son of George Wesley Smith and Frances Ellen Newman. Hazel was born in Colorado, the daughter of Henry S. Mitchell and Hattie Bell Hazelwood.

Paul is not English, He’s Irish & German American so no one needs to fix the mistake, i think you guys are confusing him with Tom Welling who is all 3 of those things.

Its pretty ridiculous to assume someone’s ethnicity just by the surname of their mothers, some of you clearly have trouble understand that lots of Americans change their surnames to make them sound more “American” espeacialy Greeks, Germans & Italians but its not unheard of for Irish, i assume that his mother is the German one since his father is Irish that could mean his mother simply had some weird long German name and changed it you cannot always go on the surname’s of people espeacialy when it comes to America. My friend is a full blooded Russian but he does not have a Russian name he has a Scottish one because his parents wanted him to fit in to American society more.

Irish people are geneticaly distinct from Scots & English mainly due to the fact Ireland has not had as much immigration through the years and have remain distinct for hundreds & hundreds of years they’re almost like the Basque in a way. This can also explain why there is a higher concentration of light blue eyes and or red hair in Ireland. Blue eyes are a recessive trait and being that Ireland has not had many foreignors to come in as England did you get the picture. You can usualy tell someone is of Irish descent just by looking at them not only because of the crystal blue eyes but the fact they usualy have roundish faces (Olivia Wylde) and softer features than English & Scots one of the main reasons you can pinpoint an Irish person better than you could an English or Scot is because of that genetic distinction they have.

The Irish are not really distinct. They weren’t that isolated. They traded with Europe since ancient times. Genetic testing shows them to be the same as the other people who inhabit the British Isles. They were a bit more isolated than Britain but other people still did arrive. On autosomal testing they cluster with British and other North West Europeans. The most common Y chromosome is R1b which is common in West Europe. It was once assumed that they were blood kin to the Basque but more recent dna studies have found they are a different subclade of R1b than the Basque. Genetics is expanding at such a fast rate and is very interesting for anyone trying to trace their history.

Finns are the most distinct in Europe, not the Irish.

That blog is very interesting. Thanks for posting. I find these studies so fascinating.

i think even modern archaeologists can’t really appreciate large scale of maritime contacts between prehistoric tribes along rivers and ocean shore of Northern Atlantic Zone.from Southern Spain to Scandinavia, which originated since Neolithic period and reach their peak at the beginning of Iron Age.Almost all of settlements, burial sites and megalithic structures placed near sea coast and rivers.Today,we’re greatly underestimate high mobility of prehistoric sea people.
Long distance marine travels could be the main reason and only explanation of spread modern haplogroups and possibly early Indo-European languages over large areas, within a short period of time.

          • Alice says:

I agree with you there Marc. Alot of these people were more seafaring than people realised and not as isolated as people think.

          • Marc says:

That’s very interesting problem, which is not decided yet.
For example,Norman travellers, some of them could be born in Denmark, and die in Turkey or Greenland!
Prehistoric sea people could travel great distances also, some jewelry dated about 1500 BC, from Ancient Egypt were find in Nort-Western Europe.

I can’t believe you guys are fighting over a no talent, non acting pretty boy like Paul Walker, honestly there are literally tons of other better looking Irish-Americans that CAN actualy act that you could fight over and claim rather than this loser. I personaly would be ashamed to call him Irish-American. We have so much better, literaly tons, some of the best actors America has ever put out, we don’t need to claim this Z-lister lol.

    @ Janae

You are right about the blue eyed part, dunno about the blond part though, but its true, more English people have dark eyes than Irish people, most Irish people have light blue eyes, its apparent in most Irish American actos of either full or partial Irish heritage.

Megan Fox – Light blue eyes
Paul Walker – Light blue eyes
Patrick Dempsey – Light blue eyes
Cilian Murphey – Light blue eyes
Pierce Brosman – Light blue eyes
Matt Dallas – Light blue eyes
Olivia Wilde – Light blue eyes
Chris Evans – Light blue eyes
Mark McLachlan – Light blue eyes
John Travolta – Light blue eyes

There’s also this half Italian/Irish model who’s name i forgot who has those light blue eyes.

There are a few with dark eyes like Collin Farrel or Josh Hartnett but yeah, Blue eyes are more common in Irish people, I too (partialy Irish heritage) have light blue eyes. Its so common that i usualy just ask people who have light blue eyes “Are you Irish or half” and they go “Yes” lol

There are quite a few Irish Americans with green eyes too Chad Michael Murray & Lindsay Lohan come to mind.
