Joseph’s biological father is Austrian-born actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was Governor of California, from November 17, 2003 to January 3, 2011. His mother is Mildred Patricia Baena, who worked as a housekeeper for his household, and had had an affair with his father at the time. Mildred was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. His legal father is Rogelio Baena.
Among Joseph’s half-siblings are author Katherine Schwarzenegger and actor, model, and entrepreneur Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Joseph’s paternal grandfather was Gustav Schwarzenegger (the son of Karl Schwarzenegger, born Carl Mach, and of Cecelia/Cecilia Hinterleitner).
