E. G. Marshall was an American actor. His roles included the films The Caine Mutiny, 12 Angry Men (1957), Superman II, Creepshow, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Two Evil Eyes, and Nixon, and the series The Defenders, The Bold Ones: The New Doctors, and CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

E. G. was the son of Hazel Irene and Charles G. Grunz. During his life, he did not disclose the meaning of his initials, saying they stood for “everybody’s guess.” His paternal grandparents were German. His mother had English and Irish ancestry, including deep Colonial American roots through his English lines. He was married to Judith Coy, until his death. He had two children with his former wife Helen Wolf; two children with his former wife Emy de Haze Winkelman; and three children with Judith.

E. G.’s maternal grandfather was Joseph H. Cobb (the son of Asa B. Cobb and Catherine/Katherine/Katherina Moore). Joseph was born in Illinois. Asa was born in Rhode Island or Maine. Catherine was Irish.

E. G.’s maternal grandmother was Agnes Sophia Green (the daughter of Harvey Green and Sophia Segar). Agnes was born in Vermont. Harvey was the son of Charles Green and Lois Hall.
