Phil Rizzuto was an American professional baseball player. He was a shortstop in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. He was nicknamed “The Scooter.”

Phil was the son of Rose (Angotti) and Philip Fiore Rizzuto. His grandparents were all Calabrian. He was married to Cora Anne Esselborn, until his death, with whom he had four children.
