Wesley Schultz is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead singer and guitarist of folk rock band The Lumineers. Other members of the band are/have been Jeremiah Fraites and Neyla Pekarek.

His father was a clinical psychologist.

Wesley’s paternal grandfather was Charles Wesley Schultz (the son of Charles Herman Schultz and Mattie Bell Munro). Wesley’s grandfather Charles was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. Wesley’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of Louis C. Schultz and Pauline “Lena” Stich/Steik, who were born in New York, both of them to German parents. Mattie was the daughter of James Munro, who was a Scottish emigrant, from Torryburn, Fife, and of Martha Josephine Mitchell, who had deep roots in the U.S.

Wesley’s paternal grandmother was Lillian Logler (the daughter of Joseph James Logler and Lucille Adele Boehme). Lillian was born in Whitestone, New York. Joseph was the son of Louis P. Logler, whose father was German, and whose maternal grandparents were Irish; and of Mary Ellen Hayes, whose paternal grandparents were Irish, and whose maternal grandparents were English. Wesley’s great-grandmother Lucille was the daughter of Edward Carl Boehme, a German immigrant, and of Lillian Clara Hoffman, whose parents were also German.

Wesley’s maternal grandfather was Keith Eggleston Kinyon, Jr. (the son of Keith Eggleston Kinyon and Eleanor Cullen Hoey). Wesley’s grandfather Keith was born in Annapolis, Maryland. Wesley’s great-grandfather Keith was the son of Clarence Melvin Kinyon and Daisy Atlanta Bales, and had deep American roots. Eleanor was the daughter of John Edward Hoey and Sarah Ann Magee, who were born in the U.S., both of them to Irish parents.

Wesley’s maternal grandmother was Joan Elizabeth Young (the daughter of Walter James Young and Janet Elizabeth Williams). Joan was born in Ohio. Walter was the son of George Robert Young, who was born in Brechin, Angus, Scotland, to a Scottish father and an Irish mother; and of Mathilda A. “Tillie” Foley. Wesley’s great-grandmother Janet was the daughter of Lacey Y. Williams and Gertrude Ella Laskey, whose own father was English, from Devon.
