Martin O’Malley is an American politician. A Democrat, he has served as Mayor of Baltimore, from December 7, 1999 to January 17, 2007, and Governor of Maryland, from January 17, 2007 to January 21, 2015.
He was a candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2016.
Martin’s paternal grandfather was William Patrick O’Malley (the son of Martin O’Malley and Bridget O’Toole). William was born in Pennsylvania. Martin’s great-grandparents Martin and Bridget were both Irish.
