Mark Steven Johnson is an American screenwriter, film director, and producer.

Mark is the son of Nancy and Melvin Johnson.

Mark’s paternal grandparents were John Johnson and Clara Gould.

Mark’s maternal grandfather was Charles Douglas Gilbert (the son of Charles Thomas Gilbert and Alta Luella Strickland). Charles Douglas was born in Minnesota. Charles Thomas was born in Minnesota, the son of Charles Serenus Gilbert and Mary Louise Cooper. Alta was born in Minnesota, the daughter of John Leonard Strickland, who was English, and of Anna May Stevens.

Mark’s maternal grandmother was Florence Katherine Taverna (the daughter of Joseph M. Taverna and Clara/Clarinet N. Haseltine). Florence was born in Minnesota. Joseph was born in Wisconsin, the son of John Taverna, who was a Swiss-German emigrant, and of Eleanor/Elinor Moser, who was German. Clara was born in Minnesota, the daughter of Edgar Jay Haseltine and Catherine/Katherine Kate Biever, who was from Belgium.
