Gwen Stefani is freaking gorgeous. I love her music. When I was younger, I always thought she was partially Native American for some reason…what can I say. I was a kid.

Gwen’s an awesome performer. Miss her and no doubt, can’t wait for them to come back with their new record. I would honestly say that she’s mostly got that typical “Irish look” to her- not saying that non-Irish people can’t have it. When I was in Dublin I saw a lot of people had similar facial features like Gwen such as light skin and some others which are just too hard to explain. Didn’t know she was Italian tho as well :S.

Her Italian father looks a little Turkish. He’s probably of Venetian descent. The regions Vèneto and Friuli was ruled by Turkishs before.

Turks had no influence on Italian genetics whatsoever.

However, in the region of my Italian grandfather (Lazio South), near to Gaeta, it’s said that there’s a lot of Italians of Turkish heritage. It’s why all churches are Byzantine style!!

Moreover, some Italians have Etruscan descent and Etruscans would come from Lydia in Turkey !!

Sorry if you don’t agree with me but I say what people told me and what I have observed. Moreover, I ever visited Gaeta and his region because my grand father is from Roccasecca. One of his Italian friends said to me once that there are some Italians of Turkish and Albanian heritage in the region. I visited an abbay near Gaeta which was marked by the Turkish invasion, I advise you to see the famous grotta del Turco. Before, a lot of Turkishs settled in the South Lazio.

Byzantine and Turkish are two different things. Byzantines were Greek. Turks came later. Etruscans were even earlier and also not Turkish.

”Byzantine” style has little to do with Turkic peoples, it is a Greek style developed in the Eastern Roman ”Byzantine” Empire. Etruscans are not from Lydia, either, but Lydians are.

Either way, the Turkish ethnic group did not arrive in the area until well after the periods you are talking about. They are an Altaic group from Central Asian. The inhabitants of what is now Turkey were Greeks, Lydians, Neo-Hittites etc. before their migration.

All music has turned to shit, though.

And the colour-coding of music is a little silly anyway, so Creole Baby is even more stupid.

To Fuzzybear
Thanks for the reply it’s always something I kept in the back of my mind. I’ll need to research it and in the future I’ll try to leave a answer on this board if it still exists. Like you said probably a combination of things.

A gentle reply to Fuzzybear

This board is getting messy and can’t tell if I’m responding to you or anon, so I’ll make it for both and very respectful. If you reread some of the things I wrote I was slamming the Italians with the most vulgar language to get my point across about stereotyping. You may be a bit naive (meaning innocent lack of knowledge) about some of the slandering against Italians. The Tar brush was directed at Italians not blacks so I’ll opolagize for any misunderstandings About that. I will still obstinate however about everone being the same race but I think you will concur that we’re all human. Also blood types, there are only about 4 major blood types best of my knowledge, mine being AB negative. I’m sure there are blood experts out there feel free to contribute I’m willing to learn as long as who ever keeps it civil.. Some of the people you’ve mentioned in your last reply, yes I’ve heard of some and more than realize the phenotypes and differences in the caucasoid race. I’m getting tired so please excuse typos. and A white person like me and many others don’t get offended about the fact that all races will have a common ancestor when going far enough back. But even the “experts” can’t agree on it. Be it only one hundred thousands years, about the last ice age which is nothing or a million. If they can’t tell there’s no way for you and I to Know. Please take care.

Let me try attack this stereotypical nonsense from a different angle in a heart felt way. Now I’ve defended the Italians tenaciously or slammed them depending on your view point. When I see some of the slandering of them, yeah I feel compelled to get defensive. I wouldn’t expect anything less from any other group. Now everyone can call me acrimonious and misanthropic but I’m honest.
Irish and Sottish actors are also listed on this celebrity web sight or just look up some of these actors. Now before someone jumps my ass, I know people they are caucasian and white. Robbie Coltrane, Sheena Easton, Sean Connery, Colin Farrrell, Stephen Rea and my favorite Jolene Blalock. These people are hardly fair or pal but rather dark. When I first saw Jolene Blalock on Star Trek (t’pol) my breath was taken away. I said to myself (sigh) that’s the girl I want to marry. Yeah I know people she’s married to an millionaire and nobody here including myself would get the time of day or a snowball chance in hell with this hot babe. Jolene Blalock’s surname means black hair in Celtic or Gaelic, I read this when looking up her info.
Now what I did not think was, O.K what is she or should I get in her face and ask what are you. Certainly not go into a chat room like this and scrutinize this human being. The same typical nonsense, are you a guinea girl or Jew? Or you have some feature that makes you look like this or that. Truth is I was stiff as a broom handle for a week because of this dark Irish/Scottish beauty. I think that every one should get the same consideration I would give them.

Though she is Irish, her name is NOT Gaelic, it is from English. ”Black” and ”Lock”.

She is just Gaelic, and judging by her lowland regional name, Inglis Scottish (from the traditionally English region of the Scottish lowlands). But would it matter if she is part, say, black? No, only to idiot racists.

She just looks Irish to me, though, somewhat generically so and she is not actually that dark. Her hair is a dark blond or light brown. But ”Black Irish” are common anyway and and no less Irish than non-Black Irish, they are just darker because they are from poorer working families.

Seriously? Poor working-class families? I take offence to that. Like we’re less than the “fair” Irish because our skin has a bit of a tan? Gouger. Next thing you know you’ll be degrading the gypsies. Snob.
