Colin Kaepernick, full name Colin Rand Kaepernick, is an American professional football player and spokesperson. A quarterback, he played for six seasons for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He is 6′4″.

He was adopted by white parents, Teresa and Rick Kaepernick. The surname Kaepernick is German. His biological father was African-American. His biological mother, Heidi (Zabransky) Russo, is white. Colin is a practicing Christian. He was baptized Methodist and confirmed Lutheran; he also attended a Baptist church in college.

Colin has one child with his partner, radio and television personality, and host, Nessa.

Colin’s biological maternal grandfather is named James Paul Zabransky (the son of Joseph Frank Zabransky and Norma). Joseph’s parents, Frank Joseph Zabransky and Magdalene Kroupa, were Bohemian Czech immigrants.

Colin’s biological maternal grandfather is named Margaret Ann Curran. The surname Curran is usually of Irish origin.

Colin has said that he has traced some of his ancestry to Ghana.

    without reading his ethnicity, I would have guessed this guy was an Arab. This is still my idea after I watched other pics. He must have Middle Eastern heritage for sure down the line

      You mean on his father’s side or something? That seems unlikely if his father was African-American. And his mother definitely isn’t of Middle Eastern descent.

      African-European mixes sometimes often look Middle Eastern. That makes sense geographically.

        African-American is a catch all phrase for an assortment of genetic admixture that is our dna. AA people really do not have a clue there ancestral lineages but mostly West African and Western Europe…however any other ethnic group could have slipped in thru maybe an Arab, Fulani, Hausa, or the rare Tuareg. Colin could easily pass for a Gulf Coast Arab but the Czech influence could be maybe a Romano Gypsy.
