Börje Salming was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Börje’s paternal grandfather was Anders Nikolaus Salming/Sarri (the son of Petter Andersson Sarri and Kajsa Stina Hermansdotter Stöckel). Petter was Sami, and was born in Talma, Lappland, the son of Anders Nilsson Sarri and Margareta/Marget Larsdotter Kaupik. Kajsa was the daughter of Herman Fredrik Konradsson Stöckel, who was born in Kemijärvi, Finland; and of Anna Kajsa Hansdotter Pohjanen.

Börje’s paternal grandmother was Ida Maria Stöckel (the daughter of Karl Erik Hermansson Stöckel and Stina Ulrika Johansdotter). Stina was the daughter of Johan Henrik Esaiasson and Ulrika Hansdotter Pohjanen. Börje’s paternal great-grandmother Kajsa and great-grandfather Karl were siblings. Börje’s great-great-grandfather, twice over, Herman, was the son of Konrad Fredrik Stöckel/Stökell, who was of German and Finland-Swedish descent, and of Elin Johansdotter Pesonen, who had Finnish ancestry. Börje’s paternal great-great-grandmothers Anna and Ulrika were also siblings, and were of Swedish, Finnish, and 1/16th Sami, descent.

Börje’s maternal grandfather was Johan Fredrik Wilhelm Persson (the son of Petter Persson and Hedda Stina Olofsdotter). Hedda was the daughter of Olof Jacobsson Killingi and Helena Christina Åström.

Börje’s maternal grandmother was Edla Josefina Stål (the daughter of Erik Johan Ståhl and Kajsa Elisabeth Isaksdotter). Erik was the son of Jacob Nilsson Stål and Helena Adamsdotter. Kajsa was the daughter of Isak Olof Isaksson and Anna Lisa Johansdotter.
