Rachida Dati is a French politician and magistrate. She has been Councillor of Paris, since 21 March, 2008, Mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, since 29 March, 2008, and Minister of Culture, since 11 January, 2024. She has also been Minister of Justice, from 18 May, 2007 to 23 June, 2009, and Member of the European Parliament, from 14 July, 2009 to 1 July, 2019.

She was born to a Moroccan father, a bricklayer named Mbarek, and an Algerian mother, Fatima-Zohra. She grew up in Chalon-sur-Saône, Burgundy. She was raised in a devout Muslim environment, though she attended Roman Catholic schools. Rachida has a daughter. Her daughter’s father has been legally recognized as billionaire businessperson Dominique Desseigne.

    damn I legitimately thought she was French until I noticed her name and looked into her background, I even thought to myself “Oh well she just looks very French”.
    I know both Moroccans and Algerians can have French and other European blood from slave trade during Al-Andalus for instance but I was still taken aback from how “European” she looks
