I would’ve thought she’d be like half Italian, French or even Spanish and Portuguese, but never expected Irish or one of those U.K. countries…

Quote( therefore she is clearly not African american or mixed visually)

Well I don’t know about that. When I first saw her in the movie, I thought she was a Latina.

Quote( her love interests were white in that movie)

Well it was more risky in the 50’s and early 60’s, not so much in the 80’s. However now, anytime there’s a black girl or woman in the (movies, cartoons, or commercials), 9 out of 10 times she has a white love interest, which is not the reality over here

      > according to conspiratorialists it’s part of an agenda to promote a multiracial/ethnic society. Of course in reality at least 95% of relationships are within people belonging to the same ethnic group.

the aforementioned agenda is ny far more common in commercials than in movies, at least in Europe.

Well even my niece has notice this one direction type of relationship on t.v.. I mean if they truly were trying to (promote a multiracial/ethnic society, then you would have all types of couples being displayed. However they don’t do that. Here most of the time I see a white man, he has a Asian woman . Even a college professor wrote a article about how the multiracial relationship are most in one direction(white man/black woman). He wrote that U.S society is more comfortable with that relationship

I think that depends on where you go

      Quote(really ? are you sure ?)

yes if you look at say old 70’s blaxploitation movies, you would have seen alot of that. Even The Omega Man (1971) with Charlton Heston showed him with Rosalind Cash as his love interest, there were a number of other movies, like Frogs with Judy Pace etc.

Quote (i heard that even in 1983 donna summer and MJ were the only black african americans on MTV and that was something new

and on the magazines on that time and on teen shows very few african americans were covered up

but if you look at MTV in the early 80s you can see racially ambiguous people but no african americans

Rick james had a hit with super freak but that video was not played on mtv in 1981 because he was black. The song was perfect blend for the rock mtv era but it was banned)

That why I had a lot of respect for David Bowie. He called MTV out for that when he did a interview with them back in the 80’s when the program was just taking off. He was insulted that he watch the program, and didn’t see a single black person on the show
