He is the son of Jeremy Bieber and Pattie Mallette. A picture of Justin with his parents can be seen here. Justin was raised in Stratford, Ontario. He is married to American model and television personality Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin), with whom he has a son. Justin is a Christian.

On his father’s side, Justin has German, Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry. Justin’s mother’s family is of French-Canadian, some Irish and English, and remote Swiss-French and Scottish, ancestry. Justin has stated that he has some Native Canadian/First Nations ancestry. No recent First Nations ancestry appears on any publicly available family trees of Justin Bieber. He does have remote (less than 1/1024) First Nations ancestry on his mother’s side.

Justin is able to understand some French but can not speak the language fluently. He was raised by his single mother, and is able to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. He was discovered on YouTube by Scooter Braun, who later became his manager.

Justin’s patrilineal line traces to Philippe Bieber, an ethnic German who was born, c. 1788, in Zilling, Moselle, Lorraine, then in France.

Justin’s paternal grandfather is George Bieber (the son of Hiram Albert Bieber and Ellen Anne Mary Loretta Egan). Justin’s great-grandfather Hiram was born in Hay, Huron, Ontario, Canada. Hiram’s father, William Albert Bieber, was the son of Philip/Philippe Bieber, Jr. and Caroline “Lena” Bier/Baer, who were born in Alsace-Lorraine. Hiram’s mother, Margaretta/Margaret “Maggie” Pfaff, was the daughter of Henry Pfaff and Elizabeth Keller, who were also German immigrants.
Justin’s great-grandmother Ellen Egan was born in Ontario, of Irish descent. Ellen’s father, John Michael Egan, was the son of Michael Egan and Helen Lang. Ellen’s mother, Mary Ann Whalen, was the daughter of James Whalen and Ann Birch.

Justin’s paternal grandmother is Kathleen “Kathy” Arnold (the daughter of Jack Arnold and Florence Alice Kennedy). Justin’s great-grandfather Jack was born in Poole, Dorset, England, the son of George Arnold and Kate Elizabeth Rattew. Justin’s great-grandmother Florence was the daughter of David Alexander Kennedy, who was of Scottish origin, and of Muriel Florence Napper, who was of English descent.

Justin’s maternal grandfather is Michael Mallette (the son of Joseph Alexandre “Alex” Mallette/Mallet and Teresa/Theresa/Therese Hamblin/Hamelin). Alexandre was the son of Felix Alfred Telesphore Mallette/Mallet and Alida Lachance, who were French-Canadian. Teresa was born in Reading, Berkshire, England, to a mother whose maiden name was Walsh.

Justin’s maternal grandmother is Diane M. Henry (the daughter of Venant Eugène Henry and Estelle Germain). Justin’s grandmother Diane is from a French-Canadian family. Venant was the son of Daniel Henry and Léocadie Babin. Estelle was the daughter of Joseph-Roland Garneau Germain and Marie-Alphonsine-Germaine Breton.

Justin’s matrilineal ancestry traces to Marie Meilleur, who was born, c. 1599, in Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Ventrouze, Perche, France.

the hispanics of spanish decent are considered white but most hispanics have more african american decent. Thats why alot of cuban, puerto ricans, and mexicans are dark skined. For example: adrien bailon, christina millian, george lopez, and paige hurd.

    • rand says:

      no, just no.
the “medium” tone or brown skin seen in what most would call “mexicans” is a result of indigenous mixing with white spaniards. not sub-saharan africans
(also why would you call them african-american if they weren’t from america? and don’t say they were from the americas, since african-american is a US term applied to those of sub-saharan african descent whose ancestors came/were taken over here many generations back, and as a result are a distinct group culturally and genetically.)
now, in countries like jamaica, dominican rep, haiti, there was enough sub-saharan people that those hispanics are often “dark” tone or black skinned.

  2. Melissa says:

    99% of Hispanics aren’t white.

Firstly, Hispanic is used to refer to people specifically from Latin America, who speak Spanish.

Most Latin Americans are mixed race (usually, European, African and Indigenous). Some look more white, black or Indiegenous, while others look mixed.

Most Hispanics may socially identify as white, but in reality, they are mixed race. The U.S., unlike Latin America, doesn’t recognze mixed race people, and furthermore, the censuses are based on SELF-identification not genetic or even phenotype.

Bottomline: once most Hispanics may identify themselves as white, they are INDEED mixed race, genetically.

    • wtf says:

what does anything hispanic have to do with justin bieber? lol

    • danaeSUCKS says:

EVERYBODY has mixed race, even if it’s from the very bottom of their roots, we all have different races. and 99% of hispanics aren’t “dark” if that’s the case then I’d say the 50% but not 99% at all

      • WTF says:

        @danae

Now Now,she didn’t say they were dark, she just said they weren’t white. Now she’s right, they do self Id the way they want to,doesn’t mean that’s truly what they are.Now that 99% white, between me and you,I think someone is lying

I don’t like that all he sings about is love, he’s 16. He doesn’t know what true love is, he’s lusting over girls. He should be singing about getting his drivers license, playing video games, sneaking out of his house to go to parties or whatever you get my point. All he sings about is love and he doesn’t even know one ounce of what true love is. Usher is transforming him to a minnie-Usher. Ugh, so sad.
