Jessica is the daughter of Tina and Joseph Truett “Joe” Simpson, a psychologist and Baptist youth minister. Her sister is singer and actress Ashlee Simpson. Jessica is married to professional football player Eric Johnson, with whom she has three children.
Some online sources state that Jessica has Native American ancestry, specifically “1/16th Native American.” It is not clear if this Native American ancestry has been verified/documented. Jessica’s maternal grandfather was Acy Edward Drew, Jr. (the son of Acy Edward Drew and Thelma Dee McClendon). Jessica’s grandfather Acy was born in Houston, Harris, Texas. Acy was the son of Stonewall Drew and Emma Cliff. Thelma was the daughter of Wade Hampton McClendon and Lou/Lue Ella Jackson.
Jessica’s maternal grandmother is Dorothy Jane Hyles (the daughter of Herbert Ben Hyles and Bertha Dee Teeters). Dorothy was born in Texas. Herbert was the son of William Jasper Hyles and Luella/Louella/Lou Ella/Lula Hughes. Bertha was the daughter of Andrew Garrett Teeters and Sallie/Sally Massey.

Having admixture =/= being mixed. Everyone in the world has admixture. Admixture has no relevence on modern day genetic make up. And all European countries share close distinct haplogroups with each other. Please don’t confuse Europe with your mutt whites in America. Please name these tribes that came and settled in Europe? And no, the other person is right. Many white Americans will claim native american ancestry because they think it makes them exotic. 98% of white Americans who claim their native get tested and find out they have no trace of native ancestry. Really, rougly 60% of American whites are solely from the British Isles. Lots of American whites find being solely British boring, so they start claiming and pulling out all these other races out of their asses because few of them can even remember what they are past 3 generations.
