Hawaiian n samoan are two different races…when kamehameha arrived in hawaii there wer already people living there, hawaiians..whether kamehameha was samoan or not, does not mean that hawaiians n samoans are the same..Kamehameha became king because he was able to unite the islands…that being said, “aloha to you all!” Im from Samoa n i truly believe that was just a joke didnt really think people believed in it..if you look at polynesian as a whole, they all have similar customs…if you go by studies, samoa n tonga are considered the cradle of polynesia. u r what u r when u r born where u stay…everybody born in hawaii are hawaiians…when u go kanaka maoli, thats different..jus like if you were born in america, ur an american..please dont put down other races, there are native hawaiians among us…im samoan, but i dont deny the fact that the first queen of samoa was half tongan..but jus bcuz she was doesnt mean im half tongan.
