Ed O’Ross is an American actor. His prominent roles include the films Full Metal Jacket , The Hidden (1987), Red Heat, Dick Tracy (1990), and Universal Soldier, and the series Walker, Texas Ranger and Six Feet Under.

He was raised in Munhall, Pennsylvania. Regarding his ethnic background, he has stated:

Boy, if anybody thinks I look Irish, they need glasses… I’m pure Czechoslovakian and proud of it.

    I think he is fully Rusyn (or 75%). Orosz is an Hungarian-spelled surname that means “Ruthenian”, and Rusyns were listed as “Slavish” speakers on U.S. Census also. Mother side appears to be 100% Rusyn, only paternal grandmother is questionable.
