Chely Wright is an American country music singer and gay rights activist.
Chely is the daughter of Cheri Smith and Stan Wright. She was raised in the small town of Wellsville, Kansas. Chely is married to LGBT rights advocate Lauren Blitzer, with whom she has two children.
