She is known for her roles in the films The Whole Ten Yards, Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls, Why Did I Get Married?, and Why Did I Get Married Too?; The Longshots, Couples Retreat, and Jumping the Broom, and on the shows Boston Common, For Better or Worse, and Empire. She has also directed episodes of the shows Tales, Star, 9-1-1, Big Sky, Our Kind of People, Black Mafia Family, Bel-Air, and Mayor of Kingstown.

She is a practising Christian.
