Bill Engvall is an American comedian and actor. He is the son of Jeanne (Shinkle) and William Ray Engvall.

Bill’s paternal grandfather was Swen Raymond Engvall (the son of Andrew John Engvall and Hannah Sophia Lundblad). Swen was born in Texas, to Swedish parents. Hannah was the daughter of Magnus Ambjörnsson Lundblad and Rebecca Svensdotter.

Bill’s paternal grandmother was Mary Lela Richey (the daughter of Harvey Wilson Richey and Margaret Evelyn Countess). Harvey was the son of Franklin “Frank” E. Richey and Mary Ann Potts. Margaret was the daughter of William Henderson Countess and Rebecca Evans Durrett.

Bill’s maternal grandfather was Jack McCane Shinkle (the son of Guy Everett Shinkle and Lona White McCane). Guy was the son of Walter Leonidas Shinkle and Nancy Elizabeth Nowlin. Walter’s sixth great-grandmother, Ruhamah Samoset, was a Native American princess, of the Wampanoag tribe.

Bill’s maternal grandmother was Helen M. Aldridge (the daughter of J. Edward Aldridge and Margaret T.).

Robert Altman was an American director, screenwriter, and producer.

Robert was the son of Helen (Matthews) and Bernard Clement Altman, a wealthy insurance salesman and amateur gambler.

On his father’s side, Robert was of German descent, including one quarter Swiss-German. On his mother’s side, Robert had English, as well as Scottish, Dutch, and 1/512th Mohawk Native American, ancestry.

One of Robert’s maternal eighth great-grandmothers, Ack-toch Caniachkoo, who was born c. 1613, was a Mohawk Native American, who married a Dutch immigrant, Pieter Adriaensen Van Woggelum. MMA fighter, actress, and model Gina Carano is also descended from the couple.

Robert’s paternal grandfather was Frank Gerhardt Altman/Altmann (the son of Clement Altmann and Wilhelmina Rolling/Roling). Clement and Wilhelmina were German immigrants. Wilhelmina was the daughter of Johan Wilhelm Roling and Anna Catharina Kramer.
