Date of Birth: March 15, 1975

Eva Longoria is an American actress, director, producer, businessperson, and activist. She has starred on Desperate Housewives, and in the films Harsh Times, The Sentinel (2006), Over Her Dead Body, Lowriders, Dog Days (2018), and Tell It Like a Woman. She has directed the film Flamin’ Hot, as well as episodes of Black-ish, The Mick, and Grand Hotel.

Her parents, Ella Eva (Mireles) and Enrique Longoria, Jr., are of Mexican descent, with ancestry that traces back to Southern Mexico. Many of her family lines have lived in Texas for generations. Eva is married to Mexican businessperson Jose Antonio Bastón, with whom she has a son. She has also been credited as Eva Longoria Christopher, the surname of her first husband, actor Tyler Christopher; Eva Longoria Parker, the surname of her second husband, professional basketball player Tony Parker; and as Eva Jacqueline Bastón.

She is said to not be related to professional baseball player Evan Longoria.

Eva’s ancestry can be traced to Lorenzo Suarez De Longoria, who was born, c. 1592, in Asturias, Spain. She also has many other traceable Spanish-born ancestors from the same period.

Eva’s paternal grandfather was Enrique Longoria, Sr. (the son of Mateo Villareal Longoria and Maria Sabina/Savina Zarate Solis). Enrique was born in Texas. Mateo was the son of Ponciano Noel Longoria Villarreal and Maria Rita Ramirez Villarreal. Eva’s great-grandmother Maria Sabina was the daughter of Narciso Longoria Solis and Agueda Zarate.

Eva’s paternal grandmother is Micaela De Luna Perez (the daughter of Viviano De Luna and Juana Perez Bazan). Micaela was born in Texas. Viviano was the son of Encarnacion Concepcion De Luna and Maria Rafaela Martinez. Juana was the daughter of Ponciano Alvarez Perez and Maria Antonia Gonzalez Bazan.

Eva’s maternal grandfather was Juan Mireles (the son of Gabriel Mireles and Luisa Barriente). Juan was born in Texas. Luisa was born in Mexico.

Eva’s maternal grandmother was Eva Salinas (the daughter of Cecilio Salinas and Eulalia Perez). Eva’s grandmother Eva was born in Texas, to Mexican parents. Cecilio was the son of Cecilio Salinas and Teodora Barrera.

Eva is a seventh cousin, once removed, of musicians A.B. Quintanilla, Suzette Quintanilla, and Selena, and a seventh cousin of their father, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. Their common ancestors were Juan Diego Longoria García and María Clara Chapa Benavides.

Eva was featured on the 2010 television series Faces of America, which examined her genealogy and that of other notables. In his 2010 book elaborating on the series, Faces of America: How 12 Extraordinary People Discovered their Pasts, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. writes, “The Broad Institute’s testing of Meryl [Streep]‘s autosomal DNA revealed that she shares recent ancestral connections to Mike Nichols (of four million base pairs on chromosome 13) and to Eva Longoria (of five million base pairs on chromosome 2), as well as an extraordinarily close ancestral connection to Stephen Colbert. Indeed, Meryl and Stephen share thirty million base pairs – a huge stretch of identical DNA.”

A DNA test whose results were displayed on the show stated that Eva’s genetic ancestry is:

*70% European
*27% Asian/Indigenous
*3% African

You are wrong when you claim that before the europeans arrived there were no Mexicans in what is present day Mexico. The fact is that the “Aztecs” did not call themselves such, but called themselves Mexicans. That is where the country got its name from. They are the original Mexicans. Furthermore, you state that many of the spanish conquistadors that came to Mexico were black, where are you getting this information from? The black people who came to Mexico were not conquistadors but rather slaves brought by them, but seeing that in Mexico, or “New Spain” as they called it had plenty of native people to do the work for them the blacks were restricted to the carribbean and other parts of latin america.
And a note to all those afro-centric people out their: please stop claiming the achievments of other peoples as your own! The Olmecs were not of african descent, they were of asian descent like all native americans! Look at pictures of mongolians and other asians and you will notice they look like the indigenous people of mexico: broad flat noses, big lips, high cheek bones, and slanted eyes. Plus: most, if not all, of the ancient olmec figurines made by them look like present day asians…

Present day Mexicans,or should I say up to 100 yrs ago were a blend of 3 different cultures, that fact. Also I believe Mexico was pronounce (Mix’cha),I’m not sure how you spell it.Now as far as conquistadors go ,I’m getting it from facts( Estevanico,Juan Garrido,Juan Valiente,Hernando DeSoto,Juan García,Pedro Alonso Nino, and Sebastián Toral)all black, and these are just the ones I can remember.Look them up yourself,if you don’t believe me.The reason you can’t ID these as black is because your letting names fool you. Also you need to take a re-look at Mexican history, they don’t tell you about the free black people that were there, which is why you think everyone was a slave;the free blacks came from Spain.

Now who told that, most of the Indians were wiped out in a very short time, another fact; found in history books .Now I don’t where you got information from, blacks were never restricted to the Caribbean;now that actually funny. Now the The Olmecs, the Mexican citizen who found the heads was the first to say they were African,he wrote papers on it.It wasn’t until the U.S white scientists got into it that all of a sudden they not African.I had all the prove, but my Hard drive took it so I’m going from what I remember;however the door is still open to debate on this subject. Now you have no Idea what ancient Asian look like do you .I shown many time about the black Asians of which the present day Asians are descended from;and the ones that are still there. You here stories about them all the time(Black Yi,the Little black people)etc. Now your the one who needs to open a book and read. Now what was written on July 5 & 6 is FACTS.Stop letting your bigotry and anger speak for you.

Sorry about the statues, here some other things I forgot. The battle helmets, were Nubian and Egyptians style, with braids in statues hair, which is like African hair, not indian. All you have to do is look, google (olmecs statues with braids in hair).I had the good pictures, but like I said I lost everything. You also mention (broad flat noses, big lips, high cheek bones, and slanted eyes),well all those facial features are in Africans, here’s a perfect example(the Bush men of the Kalahari). You must not know that much about black people. Are you Mexican?or are you part of the Spaniards that have come in like the last 100yrs?No offense meant

The genetic code has been decoded. With a hair or cells from inside your cheek, scientists can trace your mitochondrial DNA back to the Song people of South Africa 150,000 year ago. We are one. All brothers and sisters – everywhere.

To whom it may concern, I am mexican american, and you are mistaken about the mexicans having african blood and it’s not that anyone is denying it but we just don’t have it in our blood and if we do like Eva it’s very little it’s been drowned out. Veracruz Mexico has lots of black mexicans but that’s because they face the Carribean and slaves were brought back soooo long ago that yes they did mix but that is one of the very few town in Mexico that you will see that. When have you ever looked at a mexican and see a mixture of black features?? You haven’t and if you have it is because they are half mexican and black. When you see a mexican you see either white mexicans from the european blood or a mexican looking indian, from of course the indian blood. It is puerto ricans and cubans that you see the black features. I’ve been to puerto rico with my puerto rican husband and that Island is full of black(puerto ricans)

You contradicted yourself (if we do have some,it’s little). It’s funny you seat there and try to deny your own history,What me and Jane wrote was correct, look it up yourself;we didn’t make it up.There were more Africans in Mexico than anyone else.Your first two Presidents of your country were Afro Mexican (President Vicente Guerrero)the things your saying make no sense.Africans were all over Mexico, not just Veracruz.Until the Africans and Spanish arrived there were no Mexicans.Mexicans came about through a combination of three Ethnicity. A large amount of the Spanish conquistadors that came there were black.I believe Jane brought up assimilation, this why you might not be able to see African features. Now while were on this, there are no fixed features for black people,so please tell me what are black features? All these thing are a slap in the face to the people who came before you, people like (José María Morelos)People like are the reason why black people of any culture have it so hard;in countries their ancestors help to make. All I can say is you really need to go re-educate yourself on this subject.

  5. Jane says:

Fuzzybear you read my mind great post. They were 200,000 black slave brought to mexico and still to this day there are still many black faces in many parts of mexico. Mexicans need to read up on their history because there have been lied to by the white mexicans. So where did the majority of these people go they mixed with the rest of the population that is why people do not notice.

Historians and scienctist have been founding out 1/3 white americans have african blood but many do not know or know and are ashamed of it. The founding also found that mix race people every year went missing as much as 12,000 mix race people passed each year and there went missing.

    • fuzzybear says:

      To Jane

This is good to,I didn’t know about the missing people.
Now just think, that 200,000 is just between1595 -1739,they don’t even mention the free black population. Also that by the Spanish Census of 1810,there were 635,461 Afro-Mexicans,also that same group was called Mestizos. It was the Caste system that cause a lot of the problem. As a matter of fact until the early 1900’s people like (Jaun Uribe)who was a major Mexican Official is quoted after a trip to LA as saying,(My only regret is that it is not physically possible to bring all several million of you AA to his beloved Mexico)
