Billy the Kid was an American outlaw and gunfighter of the Old West. He likely killed over ten men during his criminal career, before he was shot and killed at 21, by Sheriff Pat Garrett. He fought in New Mexico’s Lincoln County War. He was also known as William H. Bonney, Henry Antrim, and Kid Antrim.
Billy the Kid was the son of Catherine (Devine) and Patrick McCarty, who were of Irish heritage. After his father’s death, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, Wichita, Kansas, Santa Fe, New Mexico Territory, and then Silver City in New Mexico. His mother remarried to William Henry Harrison Antrim.

Billy did not die in 1881. He died in the 1850s. He went by Brushy Bill Roberts. Look him up^-^
