Terry Jones was a Welsh actor, author, comedian, director, historian, poet, presenter, and writer. He was a member of comedy troupe Monty Python, along with Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin.

Terry was the son of Dilys Louisa (Newnes) and Alick George Parry-Jones, a bank clerk. His father was in the RAF in Scotland, and later in India. His father was born in London, and his mother was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England.

Terry was married to Anna Söderström, until his death. He had two children with his former wife Alison Telfer; and a daughter with Anna.
