Sofía’s biological cousin, and adoptive sister, is actress and model Sandra Vergara. Sofía is also a second cousin, once removed, of television host Ariadna Gutiérrez.
Sofía’s paternal grandfather was Julio Enrique Vergara Ordosgoitia (the son of Rafael “Coco de Oro” Vergara Vergara and Isabel Ordosgoitia de Vivero). Rafael was the son of José Blas Vergara de la Ossa and Cenobia Vergara.
Sofía’s paternal grandmother was named Esther Robayo Gómez (the daughter of a father surnamed Robayo, and of Pepita Gómez Támara). Pepita was the daughter of Andrés Gómez Patrón and Adolfina Támara López.
Sofía’s maternal grandfather was Hernando Vergara Galvis (the son of Alfredo Máximo Vergara Forno and Ana María Victoria Galvis Matamoros). Hernando was born in Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia. Alfredo was the son of Jorge Vergara Párraga and Mercedes Forno León. Mercedes was of Italian or part Italian descent. Ana María was the daughter of José Benedicto/Benedict Galvis and Victoria Matamoros.
Sofía’s maternal grandmother was Rosa Lila Dávila Barreneche (the daughter of Pedro Manuel Agustín Dávila Balti and Rosa Lila Barreneche Olaciregui). Pedro’s father, General Juan Manuel Dávila Pumarejo, was from a prominent family, and was instrumental in the building of the Northern Railroad of Colombia. His brother was industrialist José Domingo Dávila Pumarejo. His father was born in Jamaica, to Colombian parents. Pedro’s mother was Venezuelan emigrant, Maria del Carmen Auristela Balti, of Maracaibo. The surname Balti is of Italian origin. Sofía’s great-grandmother Rosa was the daughter of Camilo Ernesto Mario Barreneche Díaz Granados and María del Rosario Olaciregui y Capella.
Through her mother, Sofía is a half-second cousin, once removed, of French model and fashion designer Inès de La Fressange. Sofía’s maternal great-great-grandfather, General Juan Manuel Dávila Pumarejo, was also Inès’ maternal great-grandfather. Sofía is also a third cousin, twice removed, of Colombian president Alfonso Lopez Michelsen. Sofia’s maternal great-great-great-great-grandparents, José Domingo Pumarejo Daza and Ciríaca/Siriaca Quirós Daza, were also Alfonso’s paternal great-great-grandparents.

most latin american courtries are not a melting pot like USA excect for Brazil & argentina they have more european influcences, just because the spanish/portuguese colonized doesnt mean that everybody are descendants. so did the dutch and french too, they colonizedsome part of south america. im so sick of making people assumptions about peoples cause of their looks or surname.

Yes dutch , french,Irish,Scots,Polish,German etc.Asians(Chinese,Japanese,Korean,Filipinos,Hindu etc).Syrian and Lebanese, Iraqi and Africans.All mixed up in what is called Latin America.Most of the Europeans groups came during the late 18 early 1900’s,and have assimilated.All you have to do is look it up

her slanted eyes are a common spanish feature, i’d say native shows more in her puffy mouth & cheeks and her nose is slightly broad despite being defined towards the tip, looks as if she possibly had a nose job, but she definitely looks predominately white, more white than selena gomez for instance

First, Shakira´s mother is Colombian. Second, in Colombia have Spanish, Italian and Lebanese ancestry is very normal especially in Barranquilla.If we follow your logic, then there will not be any Colombians in Colombia.
colombian like every single other european colonized country (USA, canada, mexico, australia, new zealand etc) are only nationalities, they’re only ethnicities if the person is 100% native

Here in Latin America , there are people from many origins races and religions , that is the meaning of being a melting pot, Second the culture in each latin America coutry has received influences of all their immigrants.You must travel more and to know more our region.

i don’t know what you’re on about, but you sound very oblivious to south american culture. South America was invaded but European nations particularly Spain & Portugal and majority of the population have the ancestry of such, it is true many are mixed race but as i’ve stated you cannot claim countries like mexico and brazil as ethnicities when most people from those countries have european surnames like “Vergara”, it’s nothing to do with a melting pot, many European countries like the UK have become melting pots, doesn’t change the fact that the country has it’s native peoples or “pure bloods”. So as i’ve stated, south american countries are never an actual “ethnicity” unless the person is of a native bloodline as they were the original peoples, if you’re a person with a spanish surname and caucasian facial structure then clearly your ancestry is European, not south american, regardless of how many generations you are. There are many White American celebrities from the USA of 10+ generations but their ethnicity will never be considered “American” as all white people are European by blood, it’s not hard to understand
