Seth Rollins, or Seth “Freakin” Rollins, is an American professional wrestler. He performs on WWE’s Raw brand. He has also been known as Gixx, Taj the Destroyer, and Tyler Black.

He was born in Davenport, and raised in Buffalo, Iowa. He has stated:

…I’m half Armenian and half German and Irish. My biological dad was Armenian. My last name is Lopez and I have a darker complexion, which throws people for a loop. My mother’s first husband is Mexican. That’s where I got Lopez. I grew up eating Mexican food at home, but he was very American. He didn’t grow up in Mexico or speak Spanish.

Through his mother, he has considerable Colonial American roots.

Seth is married to Irish professional wrestler and actress Becky Lynch, with whom he has a daughter.

Seth’s maternal grandfather was Don Jackson Ghrist (the son of William Perry Ghrist and Velvie/Velva M. Lawing). Don was born in Missouri. William was the son of John Sherman Ghrist and Clara R. Hemhpill. Velva was the daughter of Alfred Jackson Lawing and Frances Louemma Woodard.

Seth’s maternal grandmother was Suneva Marie McCartney (the daughter of Preston Amory McCartney and Helen Marie Russell). Suneva was born in Burlington, Iowa. Preston was born in Illinois, the son of Amory Bryan McCartney and Margaret Bigger, who were born in Northern Ireland, with Amory being from Belfast and Margaret from Donnegore, Antrim. Helen was born in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Fred Grant Russell and Frances Anne Roxlau, who was of German descent.

Most of his maternal ancestors are English/Colonial American. Too many to list but, for example, here are his ninth great-grandparents, George Blanchard and Elizabeth Hills:

His maternal grandparents were Don Ghrist and Suneva Marie McCartney.

Suneva was born in Burlington, Iowa to Preston McCartney and Helen Russell. Preston was born in Illinois; his parents were Amory McCartney and Margaret Bryan. Helen was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Fred Grant Russell (born Missouri) and Frances Roxlau. Frances’ father was John Roxlau (whose own parents were born in Germany) and Elizabeth Karhoff (whose father was born in Germany and whose mother was born in Ohio).
