I agree with almost everything Gutierrez says exception two things: 1) Native Cubans did not die off. They mixed into the population. There are regions of Cuba where Taino/Arawak words and customs still linger. My Cuban DNA confirms the existing of Native Cuban blood which I likely acquired from my mother whose ancestors originated in Camagüey. 2) The claim that “Cuba was 74% whites one year before Castro” might be accurate if determination was made solely on visual phenotype. However, Cuba has a long history of race mixing that goes all the way back to the creoles. In fact, many “white-in-appearance” descendents were known to have an Afro-Cuban grandmother who posed as the live-in maid so that her “white-in-appearance” descendants could attain societal advancements. Fact: Cuban Spaniards had a penchant for dark women, and still do. We Cubans have a saying that bites at the core of insults when a white Cuban attempts to look down on dark-skinned Cubans: “Y tu abuela ‘donde ‘sta?”. Basically, the question of “And, where’s grandma?” is a reference back to the old days of sacrifice the Afro-Cuban grandmother made for her progeny.

That said, Pitbull has an unusually bulbous nose for a pure European, eh?
