Sydney Chandler is an American actress. Her roles include the film Don’t Worry Darling, and the series SKAM Austin, Pistol (2022), and Sugar (2024).

She is the daughter of Kathryn and actor Kyle Chandler. Her father and sister Sawyer are involved in trying to end the practice of shark finning.

Sydney’s paternal grandfather was Edward Chandler (the son of Harold J. Chandler and Grace E. Hackford). Edward was born in Buffalo, Erie, New York, and was a pharmaceutical sales representative. Harold was born in Canada, the son of Edmond/Edmund Chandler and Elicia/Alicia Grace, who herself was born in India, to an Irish-born father, John Evans Grace, and to an Indian-born mother, Mariah Jane Steele. Sydney’s great-grandmother Grace was born in New York, the daughter of Stephen Hackford, who was English, and of Charlotte “Lottie” Drew, who was born in Pennsylvania, to an English father, and to a mother whose own parents were English.

Sydney’s paternal grandmother is Sally/Sallie J. Meyer (the daughter of Edward Joseph Meyer, Jr. and Elsie R. Braun). Sally was born in New York, and was a dog breeder, mostly of Great Danes. Edward was born in New York, the son of Edward Joseph “E. J.” Meyer, whose grandparents were all German; and of Etta/Edda Glasser, whose paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather, were German, and whose maternal grandmother was English. Sydney’s great-grandmother Elsie was born in New York, the daughter of Peter J. Braun, whose parents were German; and of Eleanor M. “Nellie” Rosenbach, who had partially Alsatian German roots.
