hes not Spanish hes Cuban. Even if he originates from Spain that was ages ago and i think they’d rather be called Cuban or Mexican or wherever they are actually from than Spanish because they are not Spanish any more. And they might not be Spanish there were lots of other people from Europe coming into South American like Italians and Germans and there are many Chinese and Japanese too.

  2. Gabe says:

There were plenty of immigrants from different European countries that settled into Cuban, not just Spaniards. Pitbull clearly possesses strong European features, where ever he got them from. Whether he is 100% pure white or has a hint of something else in his distant past is irrelevant. There are plenty of African Americans with some European or Native American ancestry that call themselves “black” and no one seems to question that.

    pitbull’s cuban. 100%.

that being said, cubans come from a spectrum of colors and ethnic mixes. there’s black (african), there’s white (spanish), there’s chino (chinese), and there’s mulattos (mixtures of any two or more of the above). some people look all white and might have some african or chinese in them, in small droplets. same the other way around. no matter what, though, everybody’s just cuban! and pitbull? he’s probably straight up spanish-heritage (white) cuban. but, again, he’s just cuban!!

  4. Cubana says:

In Cuba, people are described by their physical characteristics. U can have siblings of the same parents and one can be “blanco”, another “mulato claro”, y otro “negrito” – that’s the case with mixed people every where. I have two mulatos claritos (very fair mulatos) and one little chocolate angel that reached back to my grandmother…

In other words, what a Cuban calls themselves does not necessarily reflect their background.
