He is 6′4″.
He is said to have African-American, Piscataway Native American, and European ancestry. Reports are that his mother is dark-skinned while his father is light-skinned. He is described as the lightest in his family, with his brothers being of darker complexion.

i have known Delonte since we were 7 years old, we went to school together all our lives and i know his family so i know for sure that he is 100% African American.
100% african…I wouldn’t be sure of that,I mean yeah you could be predominently black or whatever but at some point you would have other mixtures then just one and you might not even know it.

The only way you get “light skinned african amercicans” is when they have had kids with whites, making them part white. But because of the way america is a half white half black is considered black. Both his parents would have some white ancestory. His dad would have more white blood than black but i guess white blood is not worth acknowledgment in this new age. Its not cool to be white. If someone had 10 percent Russian blood they wouldnt call emselves russian but when someone is 10 percent african blood they call emselves african for some reason.

Man it probably is,I have no idea who these people are.The caption just said they his parents,that’s why I was asking.Although all the sites I went to says he’s either Irish and black or just black period ;we got a bit of a mystery here
I got a feeling people are saying hes Irish cause of the clover on his jersey. :)
The clover on his jersey is the symbol for his former team, the Boston Celtics. But when my dad and I would watch Celtics games, we would say Delonte West looks like a black leprechaun lol. Just because he’s short compared to other players and his hair is almost a red color, and the Celtics jersey added to it.
