Corey Fogelmanis is an American actor, model, and photographer. He has starred on the show Girl Meets World and in the films Mostly Ghostly: One Night in Doom House, Ma, and Into the Dark: School Spirit.

Corey’s paternal grandfather is Andris/Andy/Andrus Fogelmanis/Fogelman (the son of Janis Fogelmanis and Daina/Dain Maldonis). Andris was born, c. 1934, in Latvia, and came to the U.S. in 1949 with his mother. Janis was the son of Fricis/Fricio Fogelmanis and Minna Fridenbergs. Corey’s great-grandmother Daina was a pianist. She was the daughter of Voldemārs/Woldemar Maldonis, a Lutheran minister, and of Rachel Kerg.

Corey’s paternal grandmother is Martha Annette/Amelia Fausch/Fousch (the daughter of Roy Ulysses Fausch and Ida Beatrice Olson). Martha was born in Ames, Story, Iowa. Roy was the son of Jacob Byron Fausch, who was Swiss, of Swiss-German descent, and of Amelia Martha Alleman, who was of Swiss-German ancestry, with roots in Bern. Ida was the daughter of Norwegian parents, Martin Laurits/Lauris Olson Mæland and Marta/Martha Nilsdotter Myklebust/Moklebust, from Hordaland.

Corey’s maternal grandfather is Michael Wilson Gleeson (the son of Joseph Wilson Gleeson and Ruth Marie Langton). Joseph’s father was John Matthew Gleeson, whose own father was raised in Canada, the son of Irish parents; and whose own mother was Irish. Joseph’s mother was Florence Mary Render, whose paternal grandparents were English and whose maternal grandparents were Irish. Ruth was the daughter of Marvin Albert Langton and Emma Louise, whose mother was German.

Corey’s maternal grandmother was Carol Joanne Hocking (the daughter of George Henry/N. Hocking and Marion Olive Johanna Dingle). Carol was born in California. George was the son of Francis H. “Frank” Hocking, who was English, and of Lucy Bertha Smith. Marion was the daughter of Arthur George Dingle, who was English, and of Johanna Marie Kraft/Kratt, whose parents were from Norway.

    Daina’s maiden name was Maldonis.

    Not sure if you got everything correct. John Gleeson, my grandfather, was almost certainly born in the US (circa 1867) His father, Patrick, was likely born in Ireland. He appears in the Census of 1835 as over 30, unable to read or write.


    Oddly enough I don’t know what my grandmothers maiden name was. I can say with some certainty that it was not Jones. That was the last name of her second husband.

    As an aside, my father “Joseph Wilson Gleeson” always denied that Joseph was part of his name. He , I think, chose to redefine who he was. I don’t know what naming scheme his father used, but the man I knew as Uncle Jimmy was in fact Martin James Gleeson. Go figure.
