That is very interesting.
Ustica is a tiny island north of Palermo but their emigrants’ descendants to Louisiana left a mark: her, Louis Prima, Natasha Leggero, the Duplass bros, French politician Melenchon (who is likely related to them through their shared “Caserta” ancestors), among others.

Her father is John Dupont and her mother is Mildred Elizabeth “Milly,” though I can not find her maiden name. I’m getting a sneaking feeling that perhaps the story is made up about her mother.
