I checked Victor’s biography “Victor: My Journey” and even though there are no infos about his family, he said Afrikaans is his first language. This imply that he has Afrikaner ancestry in addition to English/British.

His paternal great-grandparents may be named Victor Matfield and Maria Elizabeth Oosthuizen: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Matfield-2
